Actually, they were staunch allies until the people of Turkey (against the wishes of the ever powerful Turkish military) decided to elect an Islamic party into power.
Very much like what the American people did in 2008 with a similar effect on our government's policy toward Israel.
This sounds big. Is this big?
Hate to be the one to rain on the parade,,, but Ezekiel 38 says nothing of the sort.
What would really be incredible is if Israel simply evacuated their state. The Palestinians would become the new Kurds, as Jordan, Syria, and Egypt fill the vacuum and turn them into their Arab slaves.
none,,, If a NATO member starts a war, why would we be obligated to help them? Besides,,, in reality, NATO only makes sense if it serves American interests.
YEah, it actually says “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.” :b
One outcome could indeed be another coup by the Turkish military to restore secular rule.
The other outcome, Turkey going to war against Israel and invoking NATO, has severe Biblical implications impacting even here.
“Indeed, provoke Israel to invoke NATO ??”
No way,, because despite all their chest beating for their local savage populations,, France, Germany, Italy, England, etc all know that they need Israel as a buffer against Islam. All secretly know that if Israel goes down... their lot in life gets a lot more difficult.
And, not to rain on your parade, but Ezekiel 38 and 39 detail a Russian-Muslim coalition, which includes the nation of Turkey, that will invade Israel sometime in the future.
The nations which are given in the Ezekiel prophecy as those who will be involved in this invasion are now in the process of forming alliances and signing war pacts and getting extremely chummy.
Ezekiel 38 and 39 speak of a war, the preparations of which are being made right now, which will happen and Turkey is most definitely a participant.
lol,,, forgot about that.
Against Israel: the rest of the world.
A Prophecy Against Gog
1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 "Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of [a] Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him 3 and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of [b] Meshech and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole armyyour horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. 5 Persia, Cush [c] and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, 6 also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troopsthe many nations with you.
7 " 'Get ready; be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them. 8 After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety. 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.
10 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. 11 You will say, "I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting peopleall of them living without walls and without gates and bars. 12 I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations, rich in livestock and goods, living at the center of the land." 13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages [d] will say to you, "Have you come to plunder? Have you gathered your hordes to loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods and to seize much plunder?" '
14 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take notice of it? 15 You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. 16 You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, O Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.
17 " 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Are you not the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel? At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign LORD. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign LORD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment upon him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'
Turkey never ever should have been trusted.
I was one of the few...just a few years ago...who was warning about Turkey. And people were acting stupid about Turkey
Remember when they tried to pass that House Resolution condemming Turkey (Ottoman Empire) for the atrocities committed against Armenians around the trun of the 20th C? So many non-Conservative Republicans were whining about that resolution....claiming Turkey was our “ally”.
Fact was....Turkey was never an ally....Turkey refused US planes to fly over its territory during the Iraq War...yet we had non-Conservative GOP supporting Turkey...and criticizing the resolution. Also, Turkey (Ottoman Empire), as a Muslim nation, was committing genocide against Christian Armenians....
Turkey is an Islamic nation. Forget their membership in NATO....its belief in a faith that is intolerant and hateful precludes it from being considered anything more than a “cancer”. Also, Turkey is now drifting further into becoming an Islamic Terrorist state....they are not even feigning “secularism” anymore....
“Ezekiel 38 and 39 detail a Russian-Muslim coalition”
Interesting,,, but of course, they don’t actually use those phrases “Russian” and “Muslim” though, do they? Thats what someone, somewhere modern, ,, says it meant, right? Not agreeing with this scholar is perfectly legit. Isn’t it funny, how a prophesy intended for us, isn’t written in a way that anyone can easily interpret what it meant? Ever wonder why they wouldnt just use terms we would all know?
The Turks are buggering puppets of Islam. Even T. Lawrence knew that the Turks preferred little boys and men to women. If the Turks, as mean as they are, attack Israel, look to see Turkey inhabited by small creatures and insects for years to come.
Good points. Turkey is no friend. Sad too whats happened there, as the original home of Christianity.
That doesn't then mean that the fact that those same nations, which now have names such as Russia, Turkey, Iran, Ethiopia, etc., that were called something different when God gave Ezekiel the prophecy mean that the prophecy is negated and is rendered meaningless.
The fact that limited, finite man cannot grasp something that God has said, or cannot, in his extremely limited understanding, see prophecy being fulfilled when it is happening right in front of his face, mean that the prophecy is not happening and will not come to pass just as God said it will.
Just like the hundreds of Biblical prophecies that have been fulfilled down through the years have happened just like God said that would, the Exekiel prophecy will also come to pass.
And it will happen in our generation.
If the turks attack, also look for half their 200 F-16s to be lost in an afternoon. Review Bekaa valley. Dropping a few cluster bombs on Kurds with enfields is a very different propsition than fighting the Israeli Air Force on it’s own turf.
“The fact that limited, finite man cannot grasp something that God has said”
hmmmmmm it’s sort of ironic to put it that way. Because some finite minds claim to be able to grasp it just fine.
Anyway,, so then it should be a simple matter to translate. Ezekiel used the word that widely meant the modern territory of “Russia” and “Turkey” in those days? That should be a simple matter of translation. Like calling France “Gaul” or some such,,, that basically your opinion??
