Pinch it shut and leave it till the RW is drilled. Maybe even get another shear and pinch it again down lower.

On the surface a prudent idea, but I think the concern there is that the Well Head is damaged where the riser connects, and there is also concern to damage to the well casing itself furthur down. if they pinch the flow too much the increased pressure below could result in either: 1. Catastrophic failure of the well head (complete blowout) 2. Total failure of the well casing with the Oil then basically drilling it's own path to the surface
I’m afraid of the pressures if you crimp it shut...
