I heard today this is the first time an American President hasn't had an American flag present at a White House Press Conference. True?
Perhaps he sees the flag as a divisive symbol.
He's skipping Memorial Day at Arlington as well.
ZMan, you seem determined to ignore the obvious. This is in perfect sync with his not putting his hand over his heart for the pledge of allegiance during the 2008 campaign as well as his bowing to every other head of state he meets.
He is intent on lowering the reputation and influence of the USA. Suck it up and face it!
No problem - the flag represents THE PEOPLE, and not the managers we happen to have put in charge for the moment.

The flag simbolizes individual liberty and freedom. The regime hates that. They hate our prosperity and are actively destroying it.

okay the flag thing is weird and IMO wrong. but the arlington thing? he is NOT the first president to skip that ceremony. reagan missed a couple, bush 2 missed a couple, bush 1 never went at all. only clinton went every year. besides consider the fact that arlington is hallowed ground and this pos racist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical, marxist does not deserve to even breathe the air of that place. to paraphrase my grandma’s worst put down, anywhere he ain’t, is a place that’s better off.
No flag at the conference. No appearance at Arlington. Do presidents regularly skip these things? Sigh...
Yet, as the president, knowing that, in spite of that, isn’t he supposed to show up anyway, be bigger than that?
I believe Bush may have missed one when he was in France during the D-Day memorial commemoration. Did Obama have a more pressing appointment, considering we do have American forces deployed under arms in harm’s way.

Most definitely. He called specific reporters who jumped up with a crib sheet in hand to ask the questions. You’ll notice nobody says SSAN number or birth certificate. And Major Garrett asked the Sestak question...and altho’ Obummer stumbled a bit, by that time Obummer knew the response was already concocted and about to be released. In prior press conferences I remember the reporters were all jumping up with their hands up getting called at random...this crowd it was all pre-arranged and civil.
Oh sure, supposed to. We’re talking about a guy who can’t take hard questions from the press corps though.
