If I recall correctly, SB1070 will (when it takes effect in late July) mandate that all city, county and state officials must enforce the law or they will be prosecuted.
Seems Gov. Brewer’s Chief of Staff should contact the idiots that are playing pattycake with Mexican officials and inform them that they have about two months to get their heads straight and that continued efforts to undermine what will become law may result in criminal charges.

Migrant welfare is a big UN concern and Mexico has been a leader in forming UN policies on migration for years. The following is from one of the UN’s Committee on Migrant Workers more recent get togethers.

Discussion With Committee Members
Several Committee members took the opportunity to update the Committee on what they had been doing to promote the Convention since their last meeting. In particular, two Experts spoke about their work with migration to the United States and outlined concerns they had about the treatment of migrants there, in particular a new law passed by the state of Arizona.
Another Expert also spoke about migration policies in the United States, including a pilot plan in Iowa in which 105 people were arrested without having due process, brought to buildings used for cattle auctions, where they had unofficial hearings and were represented by people who were not competent to defend them. Some of the migrants were allowed to stay in the United States for humanitarian reasons, but even those were required to wear monitoring bracelets. The Expert asked if the Committee could take a public stance on such issues in cases where rights were clearly being violated...
There are layers and layers of organizations supporting the invasion and they are all currently gnashing their teeth over what AZ has done. The phonier ones call for finding a way we can have secure borders while improving both the invaders standing and our immigration laws at the same time.
Will the elite be concerned about what we think of the Mexican senator’s stunt? Not very likely. They are involved against US on levels most Americans don’t even know exist. Bsides, the elites got people.

It’s really tiresome to hear terms like “migrants”, “undocumented immigrants”, etc.
Immigrants are given permission by a government to be in their country, after making proper applications, paying fees, waiting in line and expressing that they want to become citizens.
Resident aliens would include those from other countries who have properly applied for and received permission to be in the country with a work visa or student visa.
Illegal aliens are those who have entered the country WITHOUT permission! Seems the media, Catholic church, liberals and a large portion of the US Congress and Obama regime just don’t understand the differences.
Yeah...If they were recognized for what they are we'd all be calling them invaders.

Obama, Calderon assure National Guard border operation no threat to migrant traffic

Calderon demanded US troops on the border
Mexican President Felipe Calderon affirmed that President Obama’s decision to send the National Guard to the border was in response to his demand that the US should do its part in stopping arms traffic and that the operation not be used to combat migration. The deployment of the troops was part of a compromise made during Calderon’s visit to the US last week.
In a press conference held during Calderon’s present visit to Canada, he confided, “Because the problems that we have of weapons trafficking, of trafficking in illegal money and including impunity of criminals’ operations from the American side were not being duly addressed by the North American authorities, it is therefore to be hoped that the presence of the Nation al Guard will be on the terms upon which we agreed with President Obama.” Calderon added, “They (the US) committed themselves to do their part to enforce the law on the American side and, certainly, not to use the National Guard for immigration purposes and, even less, for the abuse of course, regarding migrants (“Migration” and “migrant” are the commonly used euphemisms for “illegal entry” and “illegal alien.”)

A separate but related article headlined as above assures readers that the presence of the National Guard troops on the border “is not for immigration purposes, but to assist the Border Patrol in maintaining vigilance for organized crime.” The US assured that the National Guard operations have nothing to do with SB 170, the Arizona law which President Obama disapproves.

Central American Legislators cancel trip to Washington
On Tuesday, the leader of Guatemala’s Congress, Roberto Alejos, said that the heads of Central American and Caribbean congresses suspended their trip to Washington, where they intended to lobby for an integral migratory reform and to criticize a law of the State of Arizona. The legislator explained that the trip was cancelled, “Due to lack of contact with U.S. Senators and Congressmen to support an integral reform.” The trip will be re-scheduled once the various area Chanceries (read: Departments of State) “define an agenda with U.S. Senators.”
A study made public yesterday revealed that Republican candidates who transform Arizona’s rigid migratory measures into a campaign issue could benefit in this electoral year. A new poll by NBC, MSNBC and Telemundo revealed that 40% of registered voters would favor a Republican candidate for Congress who supports the law. Only 20% said they would back a Democratic candidate who opposes the law. In al, 61% of participants said they support the Arizona law. (M3 Report of 5/25/10 relates)
