Top Kill Shot on Mercury with Fuzzy Dice and Goof Balls !!!!!!

My first car was a ‘67 Mercury Cougar - a cousin of the Ford Mustang and one fine vehicle.

As an owner of a 1970 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible with a 4V 351C, I object.

My first car was a 77 Mercury Montego. Kissing cousin of the Cougar. Lots of duplication between Ford and Merc.

"Ford Plans to Kill Storied Mercury" If Ford would make new MErcs look and run like this:
They wouldn't be able to keep up with demand!

"preparing to phase out its 71-year old Mercury brand" Huh. I read a fairly lucid story recently about 72 years being the natural and inevitable lifespan of an astounding number of disparate things and ideas. It's why a son fails with his father's successful business, for example.

My current car is a 2005 Mercury Sable premiere. I had hoped to replace it one day with a new Milan. This makes me sad...

In the last 45 years of my life, I've never been tempted to even consider buying a Mercury.
That being said, I suppose it's time for a tax payer-funded backing of the brand to the tune of several hundred billion dollars.
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Every marque that goes by the way-side has multiple effects:
1) drives the price down
2) drives the price up
3) Makes us reminisce for the good old days
4) pisses us off
5) all of the above
