Are BP and Obama Hiding Size of Gulf Oil Spill To Lessen Lawsuit Damages?
Allgov.com ^ | 5/23/2010 | Noel Brinkerhoff

BP’s ruptured oil well at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico could be spewing nearly 20 times more petroleum into the ocean than the company—with the Obama administration’s complicity—has claimed. Since the April 20 accident that caused the Deepwater Horizon platform to explode and sink, BP has steadily said the broken pipe is releasing 5,000 barrels of oil a day. But Steve Wereley, an associate professor of mechanical engineering from Purdue University, told Congress on Wednesday that the well could be spewing 95,000 barrels of oil daily into the gulf, based on video footage released by BP.

From the way this has been handled, by Obama and BP, I have one observation: they both have ‘something’ to hide and it’s probably the same thing.

Early on there was speculation that a North Korean suicide submersible, formerly in Cuba, detonated itself over the sea floor-bottom well and caused the destruction we see today.

Two things not frequently mentioned: if the above is true then BP would never receive insurance payments due to “act of war” clauses; Obama would do everything possible to cover-up an act of war by North Korea against the U.S.A.

I still haven’t ruled out sabotage, foreign or domestic.

They're hiding it simply so that it doesn't become a stain on the Obama presidency the way the Katrina disaster defined Bush's.

They won’t be able to hide it forever. Wait until it hits Florida. He can kiss FL goodbye in 2012.

Well, then add it to the list of the other things he's been able to hide forever.

I dig your conspiracy logic, very possible in this country, however, if that had happened the Pentagon would have taken control of everything in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico, and that hasn’t happened.

From day 2 of Obama’s presidency he has taken orders from the Pentagon. Remember his radio commercials promising to end the war? How about closing Guantanamo Bay?

If NK effed us the Pentagon would be working 24/7 and everyone in Crystal City would know about it. The pizza delivery guys would be talking about it.

I don’t believe in conspiracies. Too hard to keep people all in line.

YOU, on the other hand, seem to believe one involving the military.

I just think that crazy old fool, Kim Jong-il, ordered a navy suicide mini-sub to do a typically juvenile and stupid thing: destroy on of our deep-sea oil wells.

After all, he ordered a torpedo hit on one of South Korea’s vessesls. Four years ago I wouldn’t have believed he had the balls to do that.

So all they could come up with is an associate professor to pitch a high end volume projection? Hmmmm.

It's like looking at a fire hose squirting water and making a wild assed guess at how much is coming out.

What if the hose was squirting seltzer water? How would you account for the variability in volume in that case? The well is venting enormous amounts of gas.
