Climate change: the challenge of our times
University World News ^ | May 23, 2010 | Mandy Garner

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our times but it is one that is steeped in controversy. The recent 'Climategate' affair has shown just how politically contentious the issue is.

There are concerns that the global recession and other political factors could lead to cuts in climate change research. In Canada, for instance, the Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences has not had its funding renewed, prompting fears of an exodus of climate specialists and cutbacks in vital climate science research projects.

This and other accounts of how academics and other researchers are facing the challenges of a warming Earth will be published in a special report next week.

“Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our times...”

Wow, way to start with a completely unproved statement...and a brilliant use of a pair of words that demands that truth exists: “Climate change”.

Hey bimbos, bimboys and Obamaloons (redundant, in light of the previous two descriptors) , climate has always changed.

And to see why, look up during a cloudless day.

It’s called the sun, idiots.

Climate change is, was and always will be a hoax.

I have a slightly different take:

Climate change is, was and always will be a hoax scam.

Hoaxes are generally harmless pranks; climate change fanaticism is definitely not harmless.

I'm a believer in climate change, it happens every second of every minute of every hour of every day.

It's just that the actions of men have very little or nothing at all to do with climate change.

We don't make it warmer or colder or wetter or dryer.

The Sun is warmer at noon than at midnight, and hotter in the Summer than in the Winter {imagine that}.

My lawnmower and SUV have nothing to do with the temperature, ice in the Arctic or CO2 in the rain forest.

The recent 'Climategate' affair has shown just how politically contentious the issue is.

Climate Change IS all politics and no science. That's the politically correct fact. In fact, climate change is a ponzi scheme. Weather Change, however, is science. The EPA needs a healthy downsizing.

Really! They seem to have just doubled-down on this thing, and we are supposed to ignore all of the evidence of fraud and deception in this entire sordid scam. It only proves what I've said all along, this is a religion and reality will not penetrate it.

This is the kicker wrt the dems. In theory no two people should ever argue over what the facts are; arguments should be over INTERPRETATIONS of facts or questions of what to do about facts, but the dems appear to think they’re actually entitled to their own set of facts. We cannot allow ourselves to get dragged into a thing which involves refusal to recognize reality; we need to either beat these people really badly next several times out, or take our marbles and go home i.e. split the country up. Refusal to recognize reality will sooner or later have horrible consequences.
