A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports. "I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper. The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws. The law, which criminalizes being in the state illegally and requires authorities to check suspects for immigration status, is not "good government," Morton said.

Correct me if I am wrong, did this guy not swear an oath to perform his duties to the full extent of the law? And did he not say an oath to the US Constitution? Correct me if I am wrong, but if he refuses to carry out his sworn duties, can he be arrested and charged? I think if we are going to be held accountable for the Law, then so should he. I am interested in hearing from anyone who is a legal scholar on this issue. And I want to then participate in his arrest
Well, folks, that tells the story, doesn’t it?
Normally I’d consider that an over the top dramatization, but really, that’s pretty close.
If your government won’t protect you from a flood of dangerous foreign illegals then what do you owe your government? I’m just asking. It’s a simple question.
Someone should tell this guy that the state law IS THE FEDERAL LAW!..................
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.K.
Just march them to the border and send them direct south.

Another GREAT American and real hero. He wants to sue the Federal Goverenment for the costs accrued to Oklahoma consequential to the Illegal Alien Invasions. He’s alos running for office and, I’m sure, would welcome contributions.
Didn’t Arizona threaten to withhold federal fuel taxes some years back?
Indeed. They should order that all federal payroll tax withholings be sent to the state to be held in escrow until this is resolved.
we need another Reagan to treat them like the little bitchy air traffic controllers.
no chance of that with OweBowMao.
We, the State of Arizona, has a “contract” with the United States Govt. to Protect the State from Invasion. The Federal Govt has decided not to honor their responsibility and their contract with the State of Arizona.
Sounds like the government is fomenting vigilante justice.
FILTHY TRAITOROUS BITCH!!!!!!!
I got laid off, so I have some time on my hands. I’d be more than happy to DRIVE THE BUS TO THE BORDER.
This is remarkable. The meathead is flat out recommending not enforcing state and federal law.
Is this creep going to lose his job?
Where the Hell is the outrage?
“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton told the newspaper.....”
It’s not a matter of what you THINK, you dogturd.
So let me get this right, the federal gubermit is not going to do thier job, and they will not let someone other than them do it either?
So the Fed Gov will not deport the illegal aliens, which they also refuse to even look for.
Sounds like Arizona has one more law to pass...
...or letting them operate w/i the state. Are they there b/c the state allows it or b/c the state has no recourse? In either case it would be instructive if AZ shut them down. Then what? Barry might have to do more than vote present while huffing & puffing in front of the ever present teleprompter.
So, ICE will not only be failing to enforce a legitimate state law, but federal law too?
