If Los Angeles wants to boycott Arizona, it had better get used to reading by candlelight.
That's the message from a member of Arizona's top government utilities agency, who threw down the gauntlet Tuesday in a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by threatening to cut off the city's power supply as retribution.
Gary Pierce, a commissioner on the Arizona Corporation Commission, wrote the letter in response to the Los Angeles City Council's decision last week to boycott the Grand Canyon State -- in protest of its immigration law -- by suspending official travel there and ending future contracts with state businesses.

Add water too.
And, get used to one l-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-g-g, hot summer without AC, too. L.A., you are treading where you truly don't want to tread. You're best off cutting your losses, apologizing profusely and shutting up. You might buy some extra goodwill with your energy supplier by actually supporting their law. Frankly, though... I hope they follow through with it. Let the Laker fans shine flashlights onto the court during the playoffs. L.A.'s actions say they don't need no steenkin' electricity!
Water? From the Colorado River? Arizona too gets it’s water from upstream.
Let the citizens of LA break out their coleman stoves to cook their meals.
The Boy Scouts taught me to ALWAYS be prepared... I have been for years and I am today.
LLS
Both Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh RIGHTLY pointed out that this is the way “civil unrest” or “civil war” start. Indeed, were Arizona to do this, I would support it, but the Feds would IMMEDIATELY intervene — and whose side do you think they would take? And what ACTIONS would they take AGAINST Arizona? How far would they go? And what would other citizens or Free States do in response to the Federal tyranny?
I would hope Arizona WOULD respond to California, and to Seattle and other States and municipalities that “boycott” them. I am looking for ways to stage my own personal “BUYcott” for Arizona. :-) It’s TIME to STAND for our individual and States Rights, and call out those who are our enemies into the open.
YEAH!!!
Finally, someone with balls to stand up to these brain dead idiots who haven’t read the bill and are afraid to be proud of and protect their own country.
Give ‘em some occasional brownouts now, just so they get a taste of what’s coming!
Go, Arizona!!!!
I know Gary Pierce, and he’s a good guy...He’s also running for reelection this year (he’ll be at my Republican club next month). This is getting fun!!!
>Need to have a temporary shutdown for maintenance. One hour per day should suffice to start!!
At 3pm to 4pm California time; that’s typically the hottest part of the day in my experience.
Liberals are morons.
I smell setup, and wonder to what extent, if any, the Administration had a hand in the LA decision.
- Yes. Arizona exercised a state's right to protect its citizens -- L.A.'s way off-base, and this sends the message loud and clear.
93% (43,737 votes)- No. Arizona is now as over-the-top as L.A. -- let's grow up, people.
4% (1,791 votes)- Not sure, but it's an interesting response -- let's see what happens.
3% (1,362 votes)- Other (post a comment)

LOL! Maybe some of the illegals they’ve helped out and allowed to suck out of the city bank account will make LA city government some free candles...
I cant think of a better way to get these idiots voted out of office than to have them be responsible for getting the power turned off.

A threat is bullshit, just do it!
Three. One to whine and flail about in dramatic Hollywood fashion, one to send Conchita the maid out for a latte, and one to drive over to Lowes to pick up the illegal to come install the bulb.
