Why do the Democrats care, if the Republicans are infighting? Their concern is so touching.

RE :”Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine said Paul’s win was a “stunning loss” and a “show of weakness” for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky who supported Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the primary contest. “Unfortunately for Republicans, ordinary Americans are unlikely to be receptive to extreme candidates like Rand Paul in the general election this November,” Kaine said in a statement.

I saw RP on FNC again this morning calling for a balanced budget amendment AND congressional term limits(prior 1994 contract with America points.) Rand would also oppose the next Republican president calling for bailouts. Both parties can agree AGAINST those crazy ideas. It's not about too much power in Washington, it just matters who has the power, right?

Right.

It’s a good thing for GOP chances in KY in the fall that Conway won the Democratic primary and not Mongiordo (or whatever his name is).

Conway is way too Left for KY. Assuming he doesn’t make any mistakes and can keep his father out of the state, Paul will win in November.

to all the rin-o-p cheerleaders that tell me that the 'good is the enemy of the perfect' nonsense, we'll hafta see if the RP can deliver on small gov libertarianism votes and live with the foreign policy shortcomings that he brings...

not 'perfect', but hopefully will guard the checkbook and BORs...

Okay, I read his position on his website concerning national defense and I like what it had to say. I especially like how it started out:

"I believe that the primary Constitutional function of the federal government is national defense, bar none."

No truer words were ever spoken. However, I want to know his stance on the current war on terror. It doesn't really matter to me about his stance on Iraq because I believe for all intents and purposes, that war is over. The hot war now is in Afghanistan and the moutainous regions of Pakistan. What is his position on this? Does he want to go balls to the wall and clean these cesspools out and defeat the Taliban and Al Queada?

Paul was not afraid to mention the Tea Parties several times in connection with his victory. What more will it take for the MSM, et al., to start taking the Tea Parties seriously? (Are you listening, Mr. Chrissy Matthews?)

I’m not so sure. There are a lot of people who believe in the free lunch.

i meant the fence of Constitutional favorable tendencies vs the suicidal potential for foreign policy stuff [like dad]...

not perfect, but hopefully he'll vote Constitutionally on the checkbook and defense...

RE :”not perfect, but hopefully he'll vote Constitutionally on the checkbook and defense...”

That too, he said he wants every spending/regulation bill to be constitutional. Definitely anti-establishment.I differ with many Republicans in that I want congressmen to oppose these things(government expansion ) , even when Republicans are in charge.

Dad Ron Paul has a habit of coming up with goofball stuff that is very unrealistic. But Rand is more in tune with the current mood.

He seems to be more in tune. Time will tell.

Just a note to everyone, Rand isn’t running for Congress, he’s running for the Senate...

And I’m praying to God that he, and more like him, win!

I have come to the conclusion that the thing that's wrong with the Party IS the Party.

Bingo. The leftists, while almost completely taking over and purging the 'Rat Party, have also grabbed much of the power in our Party. That's why we're throwing them out!

Since 1989 when President Reagan flew off to California and retirement we conservatives have been told by the RINO’s of the party, hey you must support us we are ALL republicans. WE will set the agenda and you follow our lead.

Well we did and what did you fools do? We got Bush I and higher taxes and lets work with the liberals/communists, then you screwed up and didn’t follow through and hang tough on the Contract for America, then you foisted Bush II on us and said follow our lead in working with the liberals/communists and what did we get: No Child Left Behind, Medicare Drugs Program, then Amnesty. We know you don’t like these things but you must support us, its the only way we can win they said. Resulting in president obama and liberal/communist control of our government...

Now it’s time for you RINO’s to fall in line and support us or get the hell out of the way. RINO’s, the time for honoring your backstabbing selves is coming to an end!
