There are already a couple of LIVE THREADS covering the overall PA primary election. But I don't see anything out there for the Arkansas, Kentucky and Oregon folks so we are going to post our normal live thread focusing on the Key House Races. In this weeks Primary Elections we see 2 competitive House Races in AR and 9 in PA. Plus there is the Special Election in PA-12 that we have been following. There is nothing looking very competitive to us in OR or KY.

So if you are just interested in how things are going across the board in PA here are the ongoing PA LIVE THREADS"

Yep, it couldn't have turned out any worse. Burns doesn't have a chance of beating Critz in November after losing in the special.

I'm not so sure about that. I think this election was a bit of a freak since you had Burns running both for the Republican nomination AND the special election and I honestly think there was some confusion for the voters because of this. I live in the district right next door and when I went to vote I was told that the Dem turnout was almost non-existent and it was the Repubs turning out in droves.

Also, SEIU put out some pretty hard-hitting ads against Burns related to his support for the Fair Tax which Burns never answered. I was afraid when I heard the ads, as misleading as I knew they were, that most voters in the area weren't savvy enough to know the facts about the Fair Tax. The campaign was poor on Burns side.

Hopefully, he's learned from his mistakes and if he does I think he has a chance.

The HI election is on Sat. but half the vote is already in - via mail ballot.

Thanks, randita. Djou's campaign is feeling very good after seeing the mail-in tallies.

One thing we should all keep in mind about PA-12 - all of the polling shows that Independents will determine control of the House in the fall, and a healthy share (maybe most) of them didn't vote in this election, given that it was a primary and special election all rolled into one. The electorate come November will look much more favorable for Burns than it did tonight.

Does anyone know what Snarlin snarled in his concession speech?

Were they oversampling Republicans?

Yes, while also undersampling dems. Every poll that showed Burns leading was doing it, except one by Norm Coleman's PAC(IIRC), that used pushpoll questions to drive votes to Burns.

I do not trust Pennsylavnia and we should not count on this state. It is full of blue collar union workers.

It's a long, up hill battle, but we're not giving up or giving in.

With or without you, we're going to keep on fighting, into November and beyond!

Pennsylvania is a very mixed state, and it's sometimes pretty frustrating. However, there have been shifts to the right. Last fall when attention was focused on the VA and NJ governor's races, Pennsylvania elected a bunch of Republican judges, including positions on the PA Supreme Court. Gov Rendell is term limited, and the likely Republican contender, Corbett, is well known and has a strong shot at winning. Toomey is a strong candidate to take on Sestak for the US Senate. Within our congressional district, all three primary contenders carried conservative messages. There is a definite shift being felt within the state GOP and among the voters. It isn't going to show up equally in all races - that's politics.

I found it interesting to talk with fellow poll watchers today. These were all Democrats who are active enough to be volunteering for poll duty. One is our township commissioner. Several of them expressed such disgust with politician and their unresponsiveness that I thought they'd be quite at home at a tea party. (I told them so . . . ). The commissioner has a long history in our township of fighting excessive spending, and is usually a very fair man. We live in interesting times.

I don’t know that Snarlin has conceded!

Has Sestak given a victory speech?

Check out the results in District 4. Altmire may very well lose to Rothfus this fall. Burns need to answer the sleazy radio adds against him before the next election. The radio waves were flooded with the worst sleaze (compliments of the PA Dem party and Unions). There was absolutely no response from the Burns campaign. Yes, many Pennsylvanians are dumb union voters. Not answering the sleaze from the opposition (from one of the major source of information for most voters) is political suicide.

I hear her former district is WAY under reporting. 10% vs 25-35 for the 3 other districts.

It is hard to watch that witch knowing that she would have voted for anything Obama wanted if she hadn't been up for reelection.

I have friends who have maxed out their contribution to her and invited me to go to a get together. I said no freaking way. I would be too tempted to slap her.

Oh, okay, thanks.
We do not want her to reach 50% plus one vote.
We want a nice run-off that costs a lot of money...lol.
