Man attacked with a samurai sword

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - The weekend was winding down at the Oceanfront. It was Sunday night, and the crowds were thinning out.

Until just after 8 o'clock.

Dean Kirby first heard the commotion from across the street. A group of people were already standing near the corner of Pacific Avenue and 24th Street.

"There was a guy saying, 'Someone got stabbed, someone got stabbed,'" said Kirby.

Police said a man was crossing the street when he was attacked from behind. The weapon: a samurai sword. Police said the victim had cuts on his back, his head, and severe gashes on his hand.

I walked by this place 10 minutes before and was across the street (on my way home) just as the police arrived. Helicopter circled for hours after it happened.

This story has to be total BS.

After all, just within the last two weeks, we had a lite in the loafers anti gun leftist tell us that unlike a gun, using a sword or an ax to attack somebody takes years of practice in order to know how to use it.

That anti-gun leftist is a moron. I would much rather take my chances lunging at someone who has just picked up an unfamiliar gun (especially a rifle or semi-auto) than someone with a knife, axe, or sword. Any dummy can pick up a sharp object and do tremendous damage in close quarters without any training whatsoever.
