I disagree with fomer first lady LB more that I thought however I keep thinking what a classy lady. She disagreed with her husband on the life issue and the gay marriage issue and kept quiet. I really do appreciate her respect for both her husband and the role of the first lady.
Love or Hate Bush and his family you have to admit they have respect for the office of the president and they carry themselves with class.

Seems like she was perfectly happy to keep quiet as her husband took conservatives’ money and advanced professionally—while too often betraying those supporters. Now that they’ve got all the benefits thereof, she’s eager to disparage what those supporters believe in—and were paying her husband for.
Her husband believes in “domestic partnerships” and abortion in the case of incest or rape. Dubya was always a big government liberal talking conservative talk to get elected.

Whoopee shit. O.K., because of their being “classy” all of their screw-ups and idiotic statements are forgiven. That kind of thinking has gotten us into the mess we are in now. As Rush has said many times, “symbolism over substance sucks”
Amen. She responded to the call of duty by keeping her personal opinions, which were at odds with the President’s, to herself throughout his administration. That is all she owed any of us and shows her to be a person of class and dignity. Now that she is a private citizen, I support her right to speak her mind, even if I disagree with her, and I thank her for refraining to do so when it may have hurt her husband’s presidency and his policies.
