Irish ancestors where legal immigrants. Laura has gone dopey. No, she has always been dopey, now she is unleashed.
You are both correct, omega4179 and HerrBlucher.
I have been SO disappointed...no, make that appalled at Laura Bush's recent comments re: the AZ law, Elena Kagan, abortion, etc. She's definitely not the Laura Bush I thought she was... she's apparently morphed into Hillary.

Me too. Doesn’t she realize there is a backlash going on in this country against socialism? Does she realize how out of step these views are with her constiuents? I don’t think she has a clue.

She’s making Hillary look centrist by comparison.

The Bushs have always been part of the same Bildeberger group as the Clintons.

Definitely feel the same. I am so disappointed in both of them, and I was once so in love with the two of them. I still applaud Bush for the way he protected us from more terrorist attacks, but he really let us down in other ways, mainly not protecting the border and secondly not reigning in spending.

I'm saddened to learn that Laura is a liberal. She has conducted herself well as the wife of a president, I must say, and and in a classy and dignified manner. But all these recent revelations about her liberal inclinations are making me sick.
It does make some sense, though, because some of his wife's liberal positions found their way in GW's governing style. I believe that many of GW's liberal polices, like nominating Meyers to the Supreme Court, the bailout, his soft stance on illegal immigration etc, were probably the result of his wife influence on him just a gut feeling since we still have limited information on what went on close to GW during his presidency.
These revelations are shocking, and more importantly they are a big let down. I won't be buying her book and I 'm not at all interested in reading it.
