It is a bit odd that a group who represents 2% of the U.S. population would have one-third of the seats on the Supreme Court.....I think that if one-third of the Supreme Court were suddenly Muslim most here on FR would have a problem with that. And the fact that there are no Protestants is a little troubling to me as well.

Pat has JDS. Pat’s motto: I blame them Joos for the sky being blue. He’s a kook.

I still can’t get over the fact that Pat’s grandfather died at Auschwitz. Fell out of a guard tower and broke his neck.

it is odd we will now have a completely Jewish and Catholic court.

Imagine the howl if all justices were Southern Baptist or Texas Church of Christ...nirvana from my perspective..lol

it would be nice to once have a Jewish conservative on the court...they have all been libtards

Actually, though of Jewish blood, few of the Jewish "justices" now on the court are NOT of the Jewish faith but rather of the atheistic/agnostic Jewish cabal now representing a majority of Jews in the U.S. if not in Israel.

One might even refer to them as "JINOs."

"if Kagan is confirmed, Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats."

Could taking percentages into account bring us back to supporting her because she's a woman?

Is Pat using "Jews" as a race or religion?

Am I a racist, bigot, both ...or neither...because I don't like Liberal Jews?

I think Pat was commenting on the ersatz "diversity" of the mix of justices, since diversity is supposedly so important to liberals.

Throughout my life, it has seemed to me that Jews are very uncomfortable and leery of protestant America and evangelical protestant America in particular, like we're going to jump on them and drag them off to be baptized or speak in tongues or handle serpents. The biggest single Christian denomination are the various Baptists, yet there will be none on the SC.

Something I particularly dislike about the makeup of this court is that there are too many urbanites, too many northeasterners, and too many from the Ivy League. These are elitists.

If Pat is making the point that there will be no one on the court sympathetic to the interests of conservative Christians who are not Catholic--it's a point worth taking. I get tired of the kneejerk Pat bashing here, while I'm no fan it seems that reactions to his perceived antisemitism are much exaggerated and posturing, considering how US Jews themselves act consistently against Israel's interests. He has little influence outside of what we conservatives have given him.

“Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats”

Yeah, and 20% of Nobel prizes. Is it a conspiracy, Pet?

Buchanan is a plant. A democrat plant. He has nothing to do with conservatives.

Would it make Pat feel better to get a Protestant Ultra-liberal on the Bench? What the hell is the difference?

PJB is nutty.

I don’t think that Pat’s being stupid here at all. The liberals constantly cry about making everything properly representative. 33% of the seats on a court representing 2% of the population does not fit the bill. Of course, these sort of things shouldn’t be taken into account at all, but the Left insists that they must be. I think we all know that O’Connor was put on the Court because she is a woman, Sotomayor because she is Hispanic, Thurgood Marshall because he was black, etc. But, the Left only wants their own favored groups represented, while the largest group in the nation (white Protestants) are not represented at all, and they say nothing about that. It is anti-Democratic to say that all groups must be represented except for the majority. I’m glad Pat is calling them out on their hypocrisy. People here calling Pat stupid are just letting the Left get away with their biased hypocrisy.

Well, Jews are overrepresented in law. So what? Does Buchanan have a problem with the NBA? Far worse imbalance there. Is he actually a conservative and arguing for affirmative action?

Since is was male protestants who founded America, is it too much to ask to have a few on the Supreme Court?

This is a ridiculous article and Buchanan seems determined to make a public fool of himself. The big concern should alwys be knowlege of and fidelity to the Consitution. I do have a problem with the fact that there are too many justices from what one would call the D.C.-New York-Boston axis. Surely, there are a number of Americans from outside the beltway who know the Constitution.

Double facepalm

First, free speech is a wonderful thing, but Pat should probably consider the virtues of silence on that particular topic.

Second, the thought that a panel of nine judges can be made to look like America in more than the very broadest sense is one of those ideas that needs to just die, preferably a violent and bloody death.

Buchanan seems to be into the same racial/ethnic/religious/gender bean-counting thing that leftists have a fixation with.

He should be more concerned with there being too many lefties on the SCOTUS, rather than too many Jews or too many Catholics.

And yes, he's got a point about a lack of geographical diversity on the Court. No way in hell that all nine judges on the SCOTUS should come from only two law schools: Harvard and Yale. There are other excellent law schools around the country that could serve as training grounds for top-notch jurists.
