No Bush was ever pro-life. They always pandered to the religious right. Some here refuse to admit they were “had”. I won’t mention any names, because I don’t have time for a soap opera episode with ohioWfan. Oops..did I say that out loud? Sorry Maam.

I don't think you're permitted, as per the rules of FR, to do what you just did, homophobe.

The only one who does "soap opera" here, is your little gang of rule breakers. I'm not playing your game any more.

The gig is up, kiddo. The gang has been busted.

I have been wondering about the sincerity of some of these Republicans who claim to be pro-life. Something does not pass the sniff test when it comes to the two hot button issues of abortion and gun rights. Politicians can be very crafty especially Democrats and RINOS. We have seen how the Democrats have been carrying on an elaborate hoax with their “blue dog Democrats” and “pro-life Democrats”. They just held on to them to win more conservative districts.

Now I notice that the Dems are dropping their long-held anti-gun positions. What is that about?

Maybe the Dems and RINOS know that these issues do not come before congress that often, so they can fudge by saying whatever it takes to be popular with their voters. Also, the RINOS and Dems probably fear the pro-life and pro-gun organizations since they are very vocal, well organized and well funded. They may be backing off those issues because they fear the pro-life and pro-gun groups.

One thing that I have been learning in the past five years or so, is that not all is as it appears to be in politics. There are many impostors in politics, and I admit that I have been fooled once or twice, first by the Dems, then by the Repubs. We have to not take politicians at face value, that is what they want us to do. They want us to be charmed by their charismatic personalities and their carefully researched and rehearsed answers. It is hard to tell what politicians really think because it is their job to know everything they can about us but very often we know very little about them. That is exactly the way they want it. They spend millions to do research on what the voters think, then they parrot what we think back to us. We think “Wow, that guy really thinks the way I do”. Very often it is just a calculated act. This has been going on a long time in politics. This is the enemy - the culture of deception in politics. If we realized this, we would be half way there.
