Former first lady Laura Bush has broken with her husband on the premier social issues of his administration and said she backs gay marriage and abortion.
After more than eight years of silence on the controversial issues, Mrs. Bush said in an interview with CNN's Larry KingTuesday, that gay marriage and abortion were points of contention with her husband, former President George W. Bush.
Mrs. Bush in recent weeks has been promoting her memoir "Spoken from the Heart," in which she writes about her life both before and after becoming first lady.
In response to a question about gay marriage, she said, "There are a lot of people who have trouble coming to terms with that because they see marriage as traditionally between a man and a woman. But I also know that, you know, when couples are committed to each other and love each other, that they ought to have, I think, the same sort of rights that everyone has."
Mrs. Bush said she and the ex-president "disagree" on legalizing same-sex marriage.

“I am completely vindicated from your acccusation, and it’s right here in black and white for all to see.”
You are vindicated of nothing. Take a look at my post. Take a look at the post the “bump” was directed at. It was ONYX...whom I post to constantly.

One posting error in 7 months doesn’t cut it, lady.
Pinging Onyx to post 802
Your post TO ME showed up on MY COMMENTS. It was not addressed to onyx, it was addressed TO ME. Your BUMP was to my post #14.
That's all I said, and I was right.
You may continue arguing against the black and white facts, but you were wrong about your never posting to me. You were wrong to call me a liar (repeatedly) when I told the absolute truth.
I said once. I said short. I was right. You were wrong.
IT'S OVER.
Any IDIOT can see by 802 that it was directed to Onyx.
I have not posted to you in 7 months. That is all the proof I need.
Calling me names doesn't make your case better.
I'm not a wretch. I'm not an idiot, and I don't LIE.
It's OVER!
SORRY LADY, IT WAS A POSTING ERROR.
I offered you $10,000 to find another one since October, but you can’t find one, can you?
No.
You know it was an error, and so does Onyx, whom I have posted to hundreds of times since October.
GREAT MEMORY.
CONGRATS.
SIGH.
Mental, spiritual pollution seems so pervasive in our era.
800+ posts of a few posters mainly going back and forth swiping at each other = annoying for the rest of us.
Now that the truth is known, it is healed, and all is well.
Have a great life, stephen.
(And HI, onyx! :)
I didn't bother to take the time to check it out until today (I try not to take this place too seriously), but I didn't think my memory could be that bad, and was so relieved when I found that post that knocked me off my chair!
I'm glad that at 60, I'm not completely senile. ;)
Well, I’m Scotch Irish myself, and for the most part Scotch Irish were fierce Calvinists, so there really must’ve been an Arminian in the woodpile...
You mean bubbleburster! Stop it!
Well, I’m sure it’s a zoo down there today too. (particularly at night)
There is a new school at 3rd and Lucas. It’s a nice facility. That may have helped the area, but I doubt the effects are very wide ranging.
One day about twenty years ago, I drove down Vermont past a street near Santa Monica Boulevard. There to my surprise was a street vending situation that looked for all the world like something you’d see in Calcutta. It was shocking to say the least.
Look, I had frequented flea markets (swap meets) for years, but I had never seen anything look like this. Right there on our streets, a third world hovel. That was a real eye-opener.
I had an office for years at 3250 Wilshire, in the B of A tower
(Wilshire & New Hampshire).
After the L.A. Riots, my 2 partners left for home(Hawaii)
I moved the company to Westlake Village, and never looked back ;-)
Unlike a fine wine, I’ve weathered like a day old open beer.
Well, maybe not quite that bad. ;-)
Take care Trisham.
Heh. :)
You too.
;-)
