No it isn't. When they vote to organize the House after the elections, who do you think this "conservative democrat" is going to vote for as speaker? The Republican, Boner (not a spelling mistake) or Pelousey (not a spelling mistake either)?
Just remember this, Stup(id)ak was a Pro Life democrat too.
What you have to understand, and those from WV can vouch for this...virtually EVERYONE in WV runs as a Democrat, regardless of their actual political convictions.
The “D” by the name means nothing. Traditionally, very few run as anything other than Democrat.
For example, today, when I voted in the primary, of course, I got a Republican primary ballot.
It had only about three or four names on it. So, in many cases, the primary IS the election, because no one runs in the other parties.
Of course, I’m not saying what Oliverio will do with regard to Pelosi. But, he is a traditional, conservative Catholic Italian from northern WV. Just having a candidate come out and publicly espouse limited government and take the place of Mollohan is a victory. As I said, this is a huge deal.
I thought the same thing about Stupak! Thanks for saying what I was thinking!
