Chuck DeVore on Palin Endorsement of Carly Fiorina (Get the FACTS, you Sybliistas)
UN Coverage ^ | 5/7/10 | Chuck DeVore

Posted on 05/07/2010 10:02:26 PM PDT by pissant

I just finished strong in a one hour debate with Tom Campbell and Carly Fiorina (to be broadcast Sunday morning — we’ll send you the media analysis when it comes in).

But before I went to bed tonight I wanted to take a moment to type out some of my thoughts on the day’s news and provide you with an update on my campaign.

If you didn’t hear, Sarah Palin posted a Facebook message earlier today about the California Republican primary.

She bashed Tom Campbell.

She tried to ignore me.

And she announced her support of Carly Fiorina.

She called Fiorina a “commonsense conservative” and said Fiorina is “the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer.”

I like Sarah Palin. I think highly of her. But she got this dead wrong.

Carly Fiornia is NOT a conservative.

And she is certainly NOT the only candidate in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer.

Let me address each of those issues with some cold, hard facts.

Is Carly Fiorina a conservative?

* She supported the Wall Street bailouts.

* She supported Cap and Trade.

* She supported the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayer.

* She has criticized the new Arizona immigration law.

* Before she was fired as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard, she allowed the company to sell technology to Iran.

* And last year when liberal Democrats and moderate Republicans were trying to push through a massive tax increase in a California referendum, Carly Fiorina had “no comment.”

I call her a “John McCain Republican” – she talks the talk from time to time and says she’s a conservative but she has a “never with us when it counts” record just like McCain.

Don’t get me wrong, if a liberal Republican like Tom Campbell or a moderate Republican like Carly Fiorina win the primary instead of me, I will support them against Barbara Boxer.

But there’s no need to make a compromise like that.

This is not a primary election where electability needs to be a factor.

Again, let me offer the cold hard facts.

Here’s the most recent polling numbers from the independent Rasmussen poll.

* Fiorina 38% – Boxer 42%

* DeVore 39% – Boxer 42%

* Campbell 41% – Boxer 43%

The margin of error in the poll was 4.5%.

That means Fiornia is statistically tied with Boxer.

So am I (actually one point better than Fiorina).

And so is Tom Campbell.

There is literally no difference at all in how we are performing against Boxer.

The fact is Boxer has been mired in the mid-to-low 40s for more than a year.

Whether it’s her abrasive politics, her leading role in Cap and Trade, the way California Democrats have run the state into the ground, the way Washington Democrats are running the country into the ground, the “Can you call me Senator?” episode, or something else, the fact is Barbara Boxer is going to have a very difficult time winning re-election this year.

So the choice before the California primary voters isn’t who can beat Boxer…

…it’s which Republican candidate best represents your values.

* Is it Tom Campbell, the “Nelson Rockefeller Republican” who supported the largest tax increase in history at the state level, a 32-cent gas tax increase, and is liberal on social issues? * Is it Carly Fiorina, the “John McCain Republican” who claims she is a conservative but has a never with us when it counts record of support for the bailouts, for cap and trade, and for the confirmation of liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor? * Or is it me, Chuck DeVore, a “Ronald Reagan Republican” who has a proven, conservative record on taxes, on spending, on social issues, and on defense?

I believe it’s vitally important to California and America’s future that we get Barbara Boxer out of the Senate…

…but I also believe it’s just as important we replace her with a true conservative who will faithfully hold strong to the Founding Father’s vision of a limited government

My record is clear.

I have a proven voting record in the California State Assembly that has earned me several “Legislator of the Year” awards from conservative organizations.

I was a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon and I’m a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve.

And I was against the bailouts, against cap and trade, and against the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayer. I support the Arizona immigration law. And when California Republican moderates tried to raise taxes I resigned my leadership position in protest.

My record has earned me support from conservatives like:

*** Senator Jim DeMint’s “Senate Conservative Fund” *** Governor Mike Huckabee’s “HuckPAC” *** Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA) *** Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) *** Congressman Jeff Flake (R-AZ) *** The Tea Party Express *** Citizens United PAC *** Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC *** And more than 60% of California’s Republican elected officials.

Media commentators Glenn Beck, George Will, Andrew Breitbart, and Mark Levin have all identified me as the true conservative candidate in this race.

I’m not going to lie to you, I would have liked Sarah Palin’s endorsement, too (and I look forward to getting it after I win the primary).

But the support I most need and want is yours.

If you live in California, I need your vote on June 8th.

And no matter where you live, I urgently need your immediate financial support.

Based on the Facebook and Twitter comments, it seems a lot of Sarah’s supporters weren’t very happy about her decision to support Carly.

To those of you who are looking for a strong, tried-and-true conservative who can win in November, I invite you to join my team right now.

I need your help.

Click this link right now to make a donation and help me win this primary. Any amount you can give, even if it’s just $5, will make an immediate difference.

I am the REAL conservative who can win this primary and defeat Barbara Boxer.

But I can’t do it by myself.

I need the help of conservatives like you. And I need it right now.

Join my team today and together we can put this country back on track. It only takes a minute to make a donation. But the impact could last a lifetime.

So please don’t delay. Click this link right now and help me, the “Ronald Reagan Conservative,” win the Republican primary.

All the best,

Chuck DeVore

State Assemblyman (R-CA)

Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army Reserve

The conservative candidate wouldn’t act like a leftist and use state employees to work on his campaigm. That is what the democrats do, not conservative. One of the reason California is in the dump is people like him who mis use state funds. He is not fiscal conservative, he just acts like one for your taste. If you can’t smell the fraud then go vote for him if you live in the state. California will not elect a conservative anywhere; scott brown might get elect here, not because he is good but because he is almost a porn star with the spread...

Both Palin and Romney chose to support the people who have the best chance of knocking off the democrats in CA, Fiorina and Whitman. And, they were both swayed by, among other things, personal friendship and loyalty.

Actually Palin waited until the last 4 weeks, saw that proabortion/gay marriage, Tom Campbell was breezing to a win, and she stepped in to stop it.

Romney is the guy that mentored Meg Whitman and helped push her to run as a Tom Campbell like liberal, Romney ran Whitman to shut out any conservatives from the primary.

Palin is trying to take the Senate seat and get a more conservative, pro life candidate in, Romney initiated a plan to take over the California Governor's seat and keep it out of the hands of a pro lifer.

De Vore, with all that Tea Party support has gone no where in the last few months

Actually Fiorina gets the support of the tea party supporters, not Devore.

“What it looks like is that the proabortion, Tom Campbell is going to stroll into the win at this point, unless that endorsement can boost Fiorina by a few points.”

Yes, that’s the real danger. Another abortion-lover in “leadership.”

Too bad the pro-life candidates couldn’t come to some agreement (one withdraw) for the sake of helping and promoting the most important issue in the country-—pro-life.

Well, one prolife candidate is well funded, has run a good campaign, runs close to neck and neck with Campbell, and just got the most powerful endorsement in the nation.

The other prolife candidate, never got off the ground, never put together an organization or funding, runs a consistent 20 points behind, and has been on a rough patch as the campaign draws to it's close.

Tough choice if DeVore is the real conservative. I can understand some still leaning towards him. But for the sake of the unborn, I hope he drops out of the primary if he truly could not win against Campbell.

Lots of prayers are needed here to get a pro-life victory. God is able!

If Campbell were to get the nomination, G-d forbid, I’d have to vote for the idiot Boxer as long as she still supports Israel. Campbell is an Islamist and an enemy of everything decent. Devore would increase his stature if he bowed to fact that he is losing and endorsed Fiorina to stop the snake Campbell.

Chuck is not a creep. He is a politician trying to win office. By your definitions anyone running is a creep. Give it a rest. Voters deserve the chance to make THEIR choice... not the party line.

THIS IS GOOD CHUCK

STAY ON THE OFFENSIVE WITH EXACTLY THIS MESSAGE 24/7

I EXPECT FIORINA TO TRUMPET HER ‘PALIN ENDORESMENT’ — because it is all she has! and after a short time it will sound like nothing.

also leave Tom Cambell to bash Fiorina- he sounds like a dweeb and will never win if you stand up and SHOUT THIS MESSAGE

Carly Fiornia is NOT a conservative.

No, she's a dried-up corporatist who was never very good at business.

If you want to find out about Carly, listen to the people who worked for her. I was one of them (I retired from HP in 2001).
Someone didn't like their boss? Didn't like the way they ran things?

Who could've guessed that?

Unfortunately, as even Sarah herself pointed out in her own book, the local pro-life group in Alaska affiliated with National Right To Life is part of the “machine.”

The National Right To Life, its California affiliate, and the Susan B. Anthony List that have endorsed Fiorina are all part of the insider “machine” as well.

Sorry. I didn’t like the way his people handled the Palin endorsement. A bunch of them went to her FB and started mouthing off and guess what happen?

The corrupt MSM leads with Sarah’s FB is attacking her.

Give me a break.

Voters decide, not endorsements.

This is true and Sarah may have helped DeVore by calling attention to the race. The more people think about it and consider the candidates, the better Chuck looks.

Do you think if she had endorsed Chuck that people would be complaining that she should have picked Carly? The complaints are really from the Tea Party people who have for the past year been looking at candidates and had decided on DeVore. Some feel that the establishment Republicans are taking over now and pushing another moderate on them and it’s not a message that’s being well received.

He forgot to mention that Carly is also for taxation on the internet...in a "fair" way, of course.

"“It is not realistic of our industry to stand and say that taxation should never be applied to e-commerce.”"

Get a backbone... this is politics. I love Sarah, but De Vore is doing what he must do to beat out the RINO. Believe me, Carly and DeVore know the stakes and presented a united front on Hannity awhile back. It’s all in the game... No worries... if Carly wins she will be backed by the DeVore voters. Unless of course, they are hardcore ideologues who can’t get over a loss.

Don’t make bogus ethics charges like the dems do to Palin. Chuck is mostly a one man band. He is probably CA’s most ethical politician. Unlike the libs, his employees like him. They volunteer their efforts in addition to performing their state duties. No state money is being used in his campaign.
