Rubio backs abortion ultrasound bill Posted May 7, 2010 by William March Updated May 7, 2010 at 03:35 PM

Marco Rubio says he thinks Gov. Charlie Crist should sign HB 1143, a bill that would require women seeking an abortion to have an ultrasound scan, and would force many employers to stop offering employee health coverage that covers abortions.

“It is my hope that Governor Crist will come down on the side of life,” Rubio said in a news release today.

He called the ultrasound requirement “an important step toward providing women with vital information during perhaps the most critical healthcare decision they will ever make.”

Rubio also said he backs another, less-discussed provision of the bill. It would prevent employers in Florida from offering group employee health coverage that covers abortions, if the insurance plan uses any kind of federal or state tax credit or deduction.

When it passed the bill, the Legislature never produced information on how many employees’ health coverage would be affected, but state Sen. Nan Rich, D-Weston, a leading opponent of the bill, said it’s a safe bet most employee health coverage plans in the state would be affected. Nationally, she said, it’s estimated 85 percent of employee health plans cover abortion. Rich said the provision is a copy of the “Stupak amendment” pushed unsuccessfully at the federal level by Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich.

Rubio says that part of the bill “will also allow Florida to opt out of the abortion coverage mandate in the federal healthcare overhaul.”

“This legislation will save lives,” Rubio said.

You purists would not have voted for Reagan, either, as he was for amnesty.

btw, Rubio is not for amnesty.

“You purists would not have voted for Reagan...”

I am only a purist when Rinos have taken control of the GOP and the reason for that is because the country is in serious danger right now. We need a two party system to halt the progress of socialist enslavement. Rino control makes it a one party system and that is the final nail in our coffin right now.

It makes you look silly when you project nonsense onto other people like “you purists would not have voted for Reagan.” Rubio is no Reagan. Although Reagan was not perfect; Reagan was smarter than all the Rinos put together. When he granted amnesty, he really thought the borders would be closed after that. He would not be so unimformed and traitorous to tell Americans in Arizona today to die quietly in the face of Mexico’s drug war invasion to accomodate the sacred cow liberal racism as Rubio has done.

Reagan took concrete action to unseat the structure and doctrines of liberal racism. Reagan knew it was a system to weaken and divide Americans so socialists could “progress.” Rubio is a “wise latino”; a product of that socialist racism. There is no valid comparison between Reagan and Rubio.

There are very few who can be compared to Reagan, but Rubio is a good man, and NOT a RINO.

There’s no way we will have each and every GOP senator, or congressperson, as good as Reagan. If you’re not realistic, we will lose everything.

And how is it going to work for the country to put Rubio in office as a “conservative” so he can pull his race tribal thing and go along with amnesty and open borders like Martinez? How is this going to help conservatives? It is imparative that we stop it. Rubio let us know he could give a crap.

I was talking with my three conservative sisters who live in Florida today. I did not mention Rubio’s anti-American thing against Arizona. All of them mentioned it to me and see it as a real problem for Florida and the country.

In all the issues facing Americans in life, the bloody invasion from the Mexican borders is the worse. Rubio needs to be made to understand that in his race-bait knee jerk reaction, he screwed up royally. He needs to address his plan for stemming the invasion at the borders and exporting the invaders. If we are all compliant in the name of tolerance, we get more of the same. Can we afford that? I don’t think so. We are at the tipping point.

Being imperfect doesn’t make a candidate a RINO.

Reagan granted amnesty, and despite this mistake, was the best POTUS in modern history.

In FL, you got Rubio, Crist and Meek. No contest. Support Rubio.

Here’s a transcript of a Marco Rubio (MR) interview:

“JM: Are you in favor of creating a path for citizenship for the millions who are here?

MR: Well, we have a path for citizenship. It’s called coming legally into this country. The ones who are already here. You can’t do it. Look, let me say two things about it. Number one is I think that the vast majority of the people that are in this country illegally, whether they entered illegally and overstayed their visas, they’re here because they want to provide their families with opportunity. I get that. I understand that. And I know that
because I know people in that status.

That being said, America cannot be the only country in the world that does not observe or enforce its immigration laws. A key part of your sovereignty is the ability to control the influx and out flow of your people is the ability to secure your border. And you’re never going to be able to do that if you have an immigration system that says ‘come to this country illegally.”

Even Pat Buchanan said he would come to this country illegally if he were from Mexico (but that doesn’t mean we should have open borders).

If it were Rubio vs. Michele Bachmann, I’d choose Bachmann, but that doesn’t mean that Rubio isn’t conservative, just not as conservative as Bachmann.

I would never settle for sorry Charlie Crist. Charlie is a phony and a lib. But I will settle for someone who agrees with 85% of my views, and that is Rubio.
