The writers left out knowledge and skills before you need them.
The authors also left out books, pamplets, technical manuals, etc. One of the first things the wife and I will grab is our "skills" bookshelf with loads of knowledge. Note: don't get smart and think your CDs and laptops will have all the info if the lights go out. Have it printed out on paper. Also, carry leisure books and board games....if you're not working, standing guard, or cooking/cleaning, youre going to need some social time and fun until the lights come back on.
Ah! Now there’s a “thing” to have!!!
First time my wife fired a handgun, safest place on the range was standing in front of her.
Good point. In these kinds of lists, a library is often overlooked. If you have a good survival library, you will have the knowledge you need to survive. In a severe crisis, you will not be able to log onto the net to obtain information. Also, if you have information on your computer, you may not have electricity to run your computer. You need to have the information on paper in your house.
