Facebook turns on Palin
Politico ^ | 5/06/10 | Andy Barr

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement of Carly Fiorina in California's Senate race has prompted a fervent blowback on her Facebook page, long Palin's safe haven for delivering her message.

The revolt is coming from Palin supporters who also back Chuck DeVore – a tea party favorite who is campaigning against Fiorina in the Republican primary.

Palin’s Facebook page is littered with comments opposing her endorsement of Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett Packard.

“The only REAL CONSERVATIVE is Chuck DeVore. Fiorina is a RINO and we don't need any more of those in [California],” one irate commenter wrote. “Why wouldn't you back Chuck DeVore???”

“Sorry Sarah but I think Chuck DeVore is the conservative candidate you should be supporting,” added another, who was followed up by a DeVore supporter who wrote: “I don't agree with this endorsement AT ALL! What are you thinking Sarah?”

Noah Webster

In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate - look to his character. . . . When a citizen gives his suffrage to a man of known immorality he abuses his trust; he sacrifices not only his own interest, but that of his neighbor, he betrays the interest of his country.

What about Israel? I don’t see it as an issue in the campaign. Congress overwhelmingly supports Israel. It is totally bipartisan. Each party tries to outdo the other when it comes to supporting Israel. Boxer is Jewish, but none of the Reps are.

LOL. You are stuck on overload. A history of one broken record one day, another broken record the next. Rubber room candidate indeed.

And, guess what, Schumer would likely replace Reid if Reid loses in Nevada and the Repubs don't retake the Senate. How do you like the sound of Senate Majority Leader Chuck-U Schumer?

Yes. Let's focus on clearing people like Boxer OUT of the Senate. I know we all hate RINOs but we cannot die on that hill. We need to get the Senate back.

This is amazing from Campbell to Giuliani, I did not expect to run into Campbell fans here.

Sorry, but fear of “the other guy” has put enough RINOs into office, and cost the conservative ideals plenty over the years. I’d rather have an enemy I know to watch, than an enemy who pretends to be my friend.

Carly is a disaster! No way I’d endorce or back her... The days of the “at least XXX is better than YYY” argument by the RNC to push leftist republicans working are OVER.

I’d rather lose a seat than have someone win a seat that can’t be depended on when things matter. RINO’s and leftist republicans have screwed the party and conservatives over more than enough. No more.

Sarah, I gave you a pass on McCain out of the Loyalty rationale, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this one.

"In the 2010 bid by Tom Campbell for the Republican nomination for Senator of California, a dispute was triggered by a letter Campbell had written to USF's president in defense of Al-Arian on January 21, 2002. Campbell said he had not been aware of the charges against Al-Arian when he wrote his letter asking USF not to discipline Al-Arian. He also said he had not been aware that Al-Arian had said, in a speech, "Jihad is our path. Victory to Islam. Death to Israel." In the letter, Campbell said he had: "read a transcript of the O'Reilly Factor interview". Campbell said:

I did not hear, I did not read, I was not aware of statements Sami Al-Arian had made relative to Israel. And I would not have written the letter had I known about those. ... To say 'Death to Israel' is abhorrent, it's horrible.

Campbell said he erred in not researching Al-Arian more thoroughly before writing his letter, that while he was not aware he "should have" been aware of Al-Arian's statements, and that he now regrets having written the letter. “I was wrong,” he said. “I should not have done so. I regret it."

This is really a tempest in a teapot. I guess you consider him an anti-semite.

Palin is a different to Ron Paul in that Palin sometimes back 60% conservatives while Ron Paul will only back someone if they’re 100% libertarian

While I agree he can’t win, the days of justifying a horrible candidate as “they aren’t as bad as the other guy” are over. The Liberal Republicans who have been pushed by the RNC because they weren’t as bad as the other guy, have betrayed the party and conservative causes again and again.. no more.

I’d rather the seat be filled with someone of the other party we know we can’t depend on , than someone with an R beside his name who is going to backstab us when they are needed most.

Carly is a disaster, she’d be just as big of a disaster in DC. Seriously, if she is the best that the California republicans can offer, its no wonder the Democrats basically run that entire state, and for the most part have for decades.

Agreed 100% (with the exception that I didn’t give her a pass on the Juan McCain endorsement).

Noah Webster:

When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who will rule in the fear of God.” The preservation of government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be sqandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizens will be violated or disregarded. If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws.

I suggest you check my earlier posts. I was taking issue with the Palin rationale for supporting Fiorina. If the objective is to defeat Boxer and electability, then Campbell would be the better choice in a liberal state like CA. Palin should have endorsed Devore if she wanted to remain true to conservative principles. Jim Demint, Michele Malkin, Tom McClintock, Jeff Flake, and Mark Levin, among others have endorsed Devore. McCain has endorsed Fiorina and Crist.

LOL, have fun with all that, I still vote and Fiorina is not so bad that I would prefer Barbara Boxer, or Tom Campbell.

You have not made any sense whatsoever.
