the bbc says Tim Montgomerie who runs ConsevrativeHome blog.com says “a conservative majority is no longer possible”. But it seems they’lll get close enought to put a coalition together.
it should be a cautionary tale to the GOP here at home. The conservatives were ahead in the UK recently by a huge amount and were coasting to victory. now look what’s happened. don’t take anything for granted.

Well, that's going to be fine. It sets them up to have a strong minority government, with outside support from the Northern Irish parties.

About ten seats shy of what they need. But that's pretty good result and a win is a win. Just ask Stephen Harper.

I guess Cameron can start putting together his DVDs of Monty Python, Benny Hill and Fawlty Towers to give to Obama. Maybe throw in some Shepherd’s Pie and Bangers and Mash recipes for Michelle.

BBC calls it officially: hung parliament, conservatives with 306, 20 short
To: GeronL
Canada's Tories in 2008 got 144 seats - just ten short of a majority. Its looks like the UK Conservatives are set to achieve the same result.

Boris Johnson used to be a journalist/columnist at the Daily Telegraph for years before taking on Red Ken. Big bluff fellow.

How does the BBC make it official?
There are still seats undeclared.

Speculation on LBC Radio that Boris Johnson might have cost the Tories some seats. A “backlash”.

306? So the exit polling was dead-on accurate. Huh.
To: SmokingJoe
SO... what happens if no coalition can be formed by anyone?
