Its not as frightening as it sounds. The opposition won't have enough votes to unseat the Tories. In Canada, the mutual antipathy of the Liberals and the separatists keeps them from joining forces to replace the Conservative government.

The Lib Dem surge may have already faded. What's clear is the Tories are not headed toward a landslide like Labour's big wins in 1997, 2000 and 2005.

(Still voteless in NY-29.)

Meaning the Muslim vote. They would never vote for the Tories.

Con seats usually return later than labour ones, as many conservative seats are rural, and therefore it takes longer to gather all the ballots together.

The Lib Dems are totally petering out. I had a sensation that Clegg peaked about two weeks ago, and that looks like it might be the case.

Oh, I don’t disagree that it’s not all that bad. Tories have more time to figure out what they’ve been doing wrong and the socialists will have trouble further screwing up the country without a majority.

...and probably not a very well-hung parliament at that! This is England after all, NOT Italy.

Still too close to call for my money. Actually I’m quite pleased by that. It seems more people are voting, more people are making up their minds late on, and increasingly constituencies are “bucking” national trends, all of which implies more people are thinking about the issues.

A Lib-Lab Coalition would be even further left than they are now.
