He was however a Phillies fan.
Personally I would have gone with a good old fashioned beatdown for the entertainment value alone.

Excessive force? No. Hopefully it'll teach him to not be a drunken idiot at sporting events.
Plus, who doesn't like seeing people get tazed?

It's only way to control Philly fans, they're immune to standard punishment.

Excessive force?Nah, he didn't even make it to 3rd base. They should have aimed for the pitcher's mound.

Good Hit.
Sign that man up for the rifle squad and send him to AZ

“Excessive” force? No. Not enough force.

The Philadelphia Police have no dogs? This would have been perfect for a one hundred twenty five pound German Shepherd K-9 to show his stuff.

The kid was Stone Cold Sober and a school Tennis Player who is going off to Penn State, a bit of a nerd. It would seem it was Senior Prank or something.
The lesson he learned here is something he can hold onto long after his College Education is paid off.
I also noticed how much Italians look like Middle Eastern Men too, he is lucky he was only zapped.

All Phillies fans should be subject to preemptive tasing. Sooner or later, they’re going to do something to deserve it.

No it wasn’t excessive force. If I were an athlete I’d assume any moron that gets on the field has a weapon (like Monica Seles’ attacker). Then I’d dole out some bare knuckle justice.

Excessive force? I'll be the contrarian here...
The Taser was sold as the "less lethal" alternative to firearms or police batons. LEOs can stop a guy without having to kill or maim him.
I find it highly unlikely that guy would have been shot or pounded for this infraction prior to the introduction to Tasers.

I also noticed how much Italians look like Middle Eastern Men too, he is lucky he was only zapped. The ESPN story said he called his Dad from the ballpark to get his OK to run out on the field ... Dad told him he didn't think it was a good idea.
The most important thing we have a chance to do in this life is to trade our youth for wisdom ... hopefully Junior learned a little bit in this exchange.
