NEW YORK—Mayor Michael Bloomberg says New York City "will not tolerate any bias" following the arrest of a U.S. citizen from Pakistan in the Times Square car bombing attempt.
Bloomberg said Tuesday that also applies to potential backlash against Muslim New Yorkers.
The mayor said there are "a few bad apples" among any groups. He also cited New York's long history of accepting cultures from the around the world.

I work in NYC. Last night, my train was evacuated because of an unattended bag.
My hat goes off to the NYPD and the MTA police. They have a very difficult job.
Last week, police arrested a ‘student’ who was walking along the subway tracks near Wall Street carrying cyanide pellets and flares with no ID. Bloomberg said nothing about this little incident.

Mayor Bloomberg, get rid of your bias toward Americans and New Yorkers. That would be a good start before you tell other people about their biases.

New York has been a sanctuary city under four Mayors already (Koch, Dinkins, Giuliani, Bloomberg). Illegals are tolerated here because they do their jobs quietly and go home to neighborhoods like Corona or East Tremont which are far from the core areas of Manhattan and western Brooklyn. There is no “anti-illegal” groundswell here the way there is in Arizona because of the above reasons.

There’s more than one way to say the innocent should not be persecuted for the actions of criminals and terrorists. Bloomberg seems to prefer the more pointed, presumptuous language.
