At about 1AM the anchor on MSNBC was trying to get WNBC 4’s Jonathan Dienst to say that the device wasn’t really a bomb, but some sort of fireball generator. He said things like propane and gasoline don’t really explode they just burn . Dienst, who is 4’s law enforcement reporter and whose contacts in NYPD go very high just stood there from his location and looked startled at the anchorman’s questions.
Yeah, “fireball generator.” Here’s one of those ‘fireballs’ in action.
