The Wall Street Journals Peggy Noonan has discovered the unicorn is just a goat with a horn glued to its forehead.
Shall we take her back?
From Peggy Noonan: We are at a remarkable moment. We have an open, 2,000-mile border to our south, and the entity with the power to enforce the law and impose safety and order will not do it. Wall Street collapsed, taking Main Streets money with it, and the government cant really figure out what to do about it because the government itself was deeply implicated in the crash, and both political parties are full of people whose political careers have been made possible by Wall Street contributions. Meanwhile we pass huge laws, bills so comprehensive, omnibus and transformative that no one knows whats in them and no one literally, no one knows how exactly they will be executed or interpreted. Citizens search for new laws online, pore over them at night, and come away knowing no more than they did before they typed dot-gov.
Gosharoony. This aint the Noonan we heard in 2008.
Sounds like Margaret is about to leave the best cocktail parties for some old-fashioned tea parties.
Her column today sounds like she is crushing on Jim Gilchrist, not Barack Obama.
She actually makes sense. Everyone in Washington is so afraid of losing the Hispanic vote that they refuse to enforce federal law which indeed already allows law enforcement to ask people for the papers.
Thats been the law for 70 years.
From her column: In the past four years, I have argued in this space that nothing can or should be done, no new federal law passed, until the border itself is secure. That is the predicate, the commonsense first step. Once existing laws are enforced and the border made peaceful, everyone in the country will be able to breathe easier and consider, without an air of clamor and crisis, what should be done next. What might that be? How about relax, see where we are, and absorb. Pass a small, clear law say, one granting citizenship to all who serve two years in the armed forces and then go have a Coke. Not everything has to be settled right away. Only controlling the border has to be settled right away.
The government is supposed to work for us. It aint. It is used by politicians to buy votes and to expand their powers over law-abiding people (think gun control) while enabling crime both white-collar and blue.
So good for Peggy Noonan.
She agrees with Sarah Palin.
I am going to have a Coke and think about it.
I guess she never got any calls to write flowery words for the BamBamKennedy administration.
No, don’t want her back. She flip-flops, depending on who she is with at the moment. I lost respect for her many years ago.
I agree with BlueAngel.
cant stand Peggy Noonan. She is the ultimate elitist type, one who seeks reasons to turn on EVERY patriotic conservative.
After that open mike episode, I just don’t trust that what she writes is her real opinion.
tell peg to ESAD.
Peggy can go take a long walk off a short pier. Her RINO-rants were falling on deaf ears, and now she needs to sell copy. Peggy can take her “conservative” column, fold it until it’s all sharp corners, and shove it up her...
she’s dead to me
I say she’s like most of ‘em, stuck on “seek.” You know when you jam the seek button on the car radio and it just goes zipping through, delivering snippets of senseless chatter? Give her two seconds and she’ll say something different.
What’s with Peggy’s pal Matt Drudge having a pro-gay agenda ad at the top of the Drudge Report tonight?
For 2010 and 2012, I’ll take anyone who works against Pelosi, Reid and Obama.
Anybody with any beef big enough to work against them is on my side then.
WARNING: Disturbing mental image ahead!

Maybe she got tired of always having to wait for sloppy seconds after Chris Matthews.
Forget Peggy.
“WE” didn’t pass any of the monstrous, Marxist legislation.
When Peggy starts speaking Sarah’s plain English, I might start to listen to her.
The American people fear they are losing their place and authority in the daily, unwinding drama of American history.
Peggy inadvertently raises the key point, not sure she yet gets it. The American people are not afraid, at least for the most part. They are absolutely angry though. The people who should be afraid are the political leaders and government bureaucrats. Because their days are numbered if they do not fix it and fix it fast.

Noonan is smart and articulate. If the past is any indication she will again stick a shiv in our ribs. Now and then she has something interesting to say. Can’t trust her.
LLS
Ouch... Those last two sentences hurt (If you’re Peggy! LOL). Oh, and I’m having a coke right now, and I do agree that closing the border and keeping Americans safe is paramount at this moment. Beyond that, I can’t say, because I don’t know her plan...
We are in a war for our very survival as a free and sovereign nation. We need every soldier in this fight so I’m not ready to dismiss Noonan or anyone else.
