Has anyone asked Crist why, on Chris Wallace’s Sunday show, he stated five times that he was NOT going to run as an independent, and now he is? I’d be curious to hear his response.

I saw the same thing a short time ago that Crist was going to return contributions pro-rated. That must mean he has spent a lot of money already so if everyone asked for their money back, he doesn’t have it to give.
Club for Growth is all set to help contributors ask for their money back. FEC approved them to get the donor money back from Specter which reached $1.2M and would expect this to go higher. I am hoping that donors bankrupt Crist.

I understand the concept. Say you gave him $100 in Nov 09 for the upcoming election in Nov 2010. Half the time has gone by as of May 1st(using that date as arbitrary mid point) so you would be entitled to $50.00 back.
The issue a donor could have with him is that the election is an arbitrary end point inasmuch as he may not have spent the monies he collected. In truth he could have a portion of his donations a year or two later. Extend the life of the donation till Nov 2011 and he’d have to give back $75.00.
Is it legal,ethical,intelligent even is a whole ‘nother question.
