“Hunter, who spoke at a tea party gathering in Ramona Saturday, said he does not believe children born to illegal immigrant parents should get automatic U.S. citizenship.”
The 14th amendment disagrees with him.

Duncan Hunter wants to deport the U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants If I could support him more than 100% I would!

I agree with him. Why should we have to support these kids? They can remain US Citizens and return after age 18. What kind of parent would leave their kid in another country anyway?

This is a challenge for those already recognized as citizens by the government. You can't just strip citizenship, even if the law changes or there is a clarification of the meaning of the 14th Amendment, those already recognized a citizens would be grandfathered in. You can't make a change in the law retroactive (ex post facto law). (Article 1, Section 9 ss 3)

The current law makes them citizens, but it should not mean their parents have squatters rights or get to move to the front of the line .
The parents should have to return to their home country and apply for US visas .. if they want to leave their children with LEGAL family here the kids can stay but mom ( and dad if illegal ) need to go

Someone should have challenged the birthright citizen application to illegal aliens years ago.
But the Treason Lobby in both parties doesn’t want that to happen.

That’s a tough one. The kids are not responsible for their parents’ actions or the circumstances of their birth. I do agree that the law should change to confer citizenship only on those born of parents in this country LEGALLY as RESIDENTS.

There is nothing cruel about making someone go home, and nothing cruel about someone taking their kids with them when they go. What else would you do, leave them? Its silly even to say. Of course, if you’re going home, your kids go with you. Thats not cruel; cruel would be abandoning your kids. You wouldn’t do that and no one in their right mind would imagine you would.

This man is close to getting my vote should he run again in 2012! I like a man that stands up for what is right. Does anybody have any examples of him selling his values out for political favor, to stump for a friend like McCain, or just being plain wrong on an issue?

It seems to me that every amendment post 1864 AD, no matter how well intended, seems in contrary to what our founding fathers envisioned. All of these amendments have eroded Federalism down to its extinction today.
