The Army says that the soldier whose family was found dead this morning and who is in the hospital himself with a life-threatening wound had recently returned from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan.
The solider, a 21-year-old military policeman identified as Spc. Kip Lynch, serves with the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, at Fort Richardson.
He and his 19-year-old wife, Racquell Lynch, and their 8-month old daughter, Kyrista Lynch, lived off base in a South Anchorage apartment. His wife and daughter were found shot to death in the apartment. Lynch, of Jacksonville, Fla., is in critical condition and undergoing treatment for gunshot injuries.

Ping for prayers.
Sad. RIP.
Thank you for your compassion.
Prayers for this family and for everyone who loves and cares for them.
NOt sad, horrific.
The cops have yet to rule murder-suicide or outside shooter.
AS much as I hate to say it, I hope it is not this kid.
My son just got his dischare papers (out of Inactive reserve) - at 27, he is still a kid to me, this young man was just 21, wife 19.
I am at loss for words to describe it.....
Prayer sent
Please share with your friends and ask them to pray as well.
thx
This doesn’t sound a bit like the military guy did the deed although it seems the cops are assuming he is the perp. Why haven’t they issued some sort of a bulletin for an unknown perp? Ballistics? This sounds like bias on the part of the same type of folks that have hounded Sarah Palin for several years.
Thanks - please ask your friends as well - eh?
You’re welcome. I will.
Cops up here are more than pro-military, most cops ARE military with a Guard or Reserve bit. the local ‘paper’ OTOH, is anything but.
It may take a day or two, but the APD has a pretty good track record for a) solving the crime, b) putting the bad guy behind bars.
I monitor the scanner - anything things looks bad (drunk call, domestic violance, etc) involving a GI and the Army launches a team - Councilor, family services, chaplin, Pych ward person, and so on.
The new Post Commamder who truly understnds what Leadership means, and back it up. Us old farts are allowed to help as well.
If this was an outside shooter, bet real money the perp will be locked up.
I just feel so (unprintable) for the extended family.
Thanks for reading the post.
Heart hurts for all family and soldier. God help them now.
I can't get the article to load...why do you think the cops assumed he did it?
Prayers up for this soldier and the families. I’m at a loss...
Prayers up
They have had a lot to deal with. Fort Richardson is the base my son in law was deployed from. He was KIA last year in Iraq. The entire community needs our prayers, I am sure. Afghanistan is one of the toughest duties, in every respect. I certainly wish they had better communication there.
My Nephew and his wife are both Army Warrant Officers and they have both served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. They both say comparing Iraq with Afghanistan is like comparing the U.S. with Mexico. (With Iraq being the U.S.)
My condolences for your Son in Law and I am grateful for his Honorable service to our Country.
Please accept my condolences on your loss.
We know we were blessed to get our son back with ‘just’ an 80% disability rating. Life goes on, as we all must.
May the Lord look over and bless us all.
Thank you.
