Tancredo Says Arizona Law Goes Too Far Former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), who crusaded for tough anti-immigration measures while in Congress, told KDVR-TV that while he supported the new immigration law in Arizona he thought it went too far.
Said Tancredo: "I do not want people here, there in Arizona, pulled over because you look like should be pulled over."

He knows better. And the law does not go far enough. I see no mention of deportation.
Libertarians can go to hwll!
Anyone within a given country is subject to both prosecution AND protection of a given countries laws. This has been standard practice in western countries, under both civil and common law for centuries. Under your logic, the illegals could be murdered, and the murderers not prosecuted for the crimes.
LOL. and I’m not a Tancredo fan, but I just *knew* he was taken out of context.
My son & I have been in the Wal-Mart on I-10 in El Paso and it was packed! We were the only white faces in the store.
How would you profile Hispanics when almost EVERYONE is Hispanic?

Yep.
I betcha Tancredo is on MSNBC tonight or tomorrow.
Racheal and the failed sportscaster have a new BFF.
Phhfftt. As dumb as his racist followers.
Agreed. I would like to see the context of the remark and whether he was quoted correctly. I receive his twits.
The state can’t deport anyone. They can only turn the illegals over to ICE for further disposition.
Dang, the responses to this have been so fast and furious I just noticed I forgot to give allahpundit via twitter the hat tip!
Looking forward to Tancredo clarifying this—if he DOES think it’s a bad law, I’m going to be very disappointed.
I don’t correct spelling just to piss off people like yo!
54% of Hispancis self-describe themselves as white. Someone from Spain is an Hispanic, a phony category established in the 1970s to create another victim class. There is no such thing as an Hispanic.
I hope you’re right. I’ve withheld judgement on it because I suspected the hubub about what Tancredo seems concerned about were overblown due to the emotional meltdown over its passage. I guess we’ll see how this works in practice.
Reasonable suspicion provides a range of reasons LEOS can stop someone.
Perhaps the answer is to do away a with all criminal laws.
