Unlike the federal government, which has the power to steal money from you to pay for programs and policies that you don't support, Free Republic relies on the voluntary donations from it's members.
While there is already a large number of FReepers and lurkers who donate on a regular basis, either monthly, quarterly or a generous yearly donation, it's not enough to cover FR's operating expenses. There are also FReepers who would like to donate, but just don't have the resources because they are temporarily unemployed, living on a fixed income, have on-going medical expenses or other family obligations.
I will make a $25.00 donation on behalf of another FReeper who would like to give, but just can't right now. Are there any other FReepers out there who are willing to give just a little more? I'm asking you to step forward and commit to sending a small donation, $5, $10, $20 or more, in the name a fellow FReeper who doesn't have the funds right now.
What you can do:
If you have a few extra dollars, post your pledge here or put "Adopt a FReeper" in the comment box on donations page.If you're a FReeper who would like to donate, but money is tight, please post here to let us know. You can also FReepmail me and I will try to match you with another FReeper who has indicated they are willing to send in a few extra dollars.
I'm not wealthy by any means, but I can afford an extra $25.00. I'd rather give it to Free Republic than have the government take it from me!
New challenge.
Great idea.
Bump!
Thanks!
Is this endorsed by Jim Thompson? Woo Hoo!
Adopt her anyway! Just put “I would like to adopt Jane Doe” in the comment section.
Jim Thompson is a mensch.
I’m the one! I don’t mind being adopted..I think that is sweet :-)
Here’s my girl!
She’s going to be a monthly donor.
I’ll do the work tonight when Fiddlstix returns so we can add her to the formal list!
You are SO sweet for doing this for me. COOL so now I am officially adopted :-)
Yep, I saw it last night on ESPN..totally AWESOME..Jan Brewer also posted on her facebook page how she and Sarah had a great time together and talked about illegal immigration, Obamacare, and other matters..that they had a great conversation. Oh how I would have loved being a fly on the wall during that talk :-)
I’m so happy they’re friends! Looks like Sarah spent her time in Arizona with Jan Brewer and not with someone else...lol. On the thread with the other photos of Sarah and Jan, someone posted that Jan also endorsed Sarah’s former runningmate, so I guess even though she signed the bill on Friday, she isn’t perfect either.
HURRAY!
This awesome! And exactly what I had in mind!
Yep..so are people gonna bash Jan Brewer for endorsing McCain, nah of course not..people gotta get over the whole “She endorsed McCain” nonsense..in fact, Sarah just endorsed someone new..its on her facebook page..I have been checking the guy out(Since I had never heard of him) he looks pretty good..He’s for Pennsylvania’s 12th district..his name is Tim Burn’s

In a year when Americans are desperate for job growth and frustrated with the reckless spending in Washington, the candidates running in the special election in Pennsylvanias 12th Congressional District epitomize the problem and the solution. Its a race between a career Washington bureaucrat and a small business entrepreneur.
Born and raised in Pennsylvanias beautiful 12th district, Tim Burns story is like that of millions of successful small business owners across the country. He started a pharmaceutical technology company out of the basement of his house and grew it to over 400 employees. He worked hard and gave back generously to his community, in part by starting a charity to help children with special needs. In his spare time, hes a hockey dad coaching his sons team. Last year, he attended a local tea party and spoke passionately about the danger that the policies coming out of Washington pose for small business owners like him. Reflecting on that day, Tim said, I had not considered running until after the tea parties, but I decided that I owed it to my two children, who are 14 and 12, to do something. Were in a fight for the very life of our country.
Tim spent his professional life building a business from scratch that employed Pennsylvanians, and now he would like to bring his common sense pro-free market message to Washington. Im proud to offer my support to Tim Burns in his campaign to bring real job creation to Pennsylvanias 12th district. Please join me in supporting his campaign. Visit Tims website here, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Its been said many times this year that America is at a crossroads, and the decision we make in November will decide the course of our childrens future. The choice in Pennsylvanias 12th district couldnt be more obvious. Lets send the job-creator to Washington to get this economy moving again.
- Sarah Palin
The idea was yours! Thank you, jellybean!!!!!
In his spare time he’s a hockey dad!!!!
I hope someone in PA posts this.
Still waiting for more FReepers to step forward - either to offer to adopt or as an adoptee.
