Animals can be driven crazy by placing too many in too small a pen.
Homo sapiens is the only animal that voluntarily does this to himself.

I’ve observed an overcrowding effect on people just in an office. When everyone is in it’s a less pleasing environment. Take a few out for the day and it’s more palatable.

New York City, in particular, at least certain parts, is incredibly crowded. And everyone moves fast. It can be very overwhelming. But I have been there when people stop to help someone in need. It’s not all awful.

This has nothing to do with crowding and everything to do with the enemies of society being excused for their barbaric behaviour.

what a crock...

What is Lazarus saying? A pack of dogs would stop and call an ambulance? A flock of seagulls would stop and call Police?

Fine quote, but I think it is better applied on a slightly different scenario....

I have some reprints from Scientific American articles in the 50’s.

Tests where they intentionally increased the numbers of rats living in a confined area.

It was outright scary some of the stuff the rats started doing. And much of it seems to parallel humans when they are put into high density, stressful situations.
