"The EPA told the school mercury, even the size of a pencil lead, could render half of..."

I remember playing with it as a child also. I also remember when the mercury free ones came in, and being upset about it, because pushing mercury around was so cool.
Whoops, mercury free thermometers that is.
From Dr. Iva Grant and Professor Jean Stretchin:
“THERE IS NO SAFE level of stupidity. Even small amounts INJECTED into thinking processes can produce HUGE AMOUNTS OF PANIC!!!
polio...smallpox??? Never heard of ‘em!!!!!
Total and complete BS.
Elemental (liquid) mercury is so harmless you can swallow a small amount and suffer zero harm. If left alone in the school it would no cause any problems, period.
Its not dangerous to play with every so often. Just need to be careful not to eat it or breath in the vapors. Its been a staple in every science class. They used to liters of the stuff in plastic bottles.
Of interest about autism “link”:
“
“The Damage of the Anti-vaccination Movement,” my LA Times piece
By Michael Fumento
Among the facts that have come out of the inquiry of Wakefield’s research is that two years before his paper appeared lawyers seeking to sue vaccine-makers paid Wakefield the equivalent of $700,000..............”
Wakefield pulled the autism/vaccine wagon.
Or go to third world countries where children routinely die or are maimed by diseases we never see here...
You anti-vacciners make us educated conservatives look bad. Please stop.
Forgive us ignorant peasants. We are not as enlightened as you and Obama and the other educated elites. That is why we need government to make all our health decisions for us. LOL
I would say that a lot of congress critters were invested in the mercury bulbs..
So every time one of the new “greenie” light bulbs breaks, we have to move schools.
Just like Bammy invested in Baxter Pharmaceutical, maker of the H1N1 vaccine—he bought 50,000 shares in 2007.
More than that, the lamps never last as long as hyped, because they are made in a Turd World pesthole Most Favored Trade Nation where the waste is just dumped into the rivers, anyway.
Complete bullshit. Debunked dozens of times.
“It melts at 85.6 degrees, much like M&Ms.”
But probably doesn’t taste near as good.
I think that we all played with mercury when we were kids and we did it in a house where at least one parent smoked. Not only that, we ate lunch meat, apples sprayed with Alar, eggs, bacon, drank sugar laden soda pop, and we ran with scissors.
As adults, we ate oatmeal when it was good for us and quit when it was bad and then ate it again when it was good for us again. We did the same with coffee and other things that the experts told us was good for us or bad for us.
How did we ever survive?
And what about breaking one of those DAMNED sort of glow in the dark CFL bulbs??? The fun is just begining!
