Mr. Doe explained that for each click through to the Obama site, someone, somewhere was billed for each and every one of them. Granted, it could be as little as a nickel per click, but John Doe quickly got his point across.

You bet! The Google mechanism is well known. The Limbaugh audience is large enough to eat any "pay per click" scheme for lunch in minutes. Ditto for CoastToCoastAM and Glenn Beck. I hope it cost the RATS a bundle and for zero benefit. Let's do it again tomorrow. Obama wants to use the net to push his agenda. It works both ways.

Was some White House hack listening to the show and realized hed better pull it or get a very, very large advertising bill from Google next month?Mr. Doe explained that there were daily, weekly or monthly threshholds that when met would turn off the advertising. Someone may have "manually" shut it down, but it is more probably that the daily threshheld was met.
It would be neat to keep doing this.

I was listening today when this happened. It was very funny. It also was too very fast to have been manually “taken down”. It was there one minute and gone the next. The caller, an ex-Google employee explained that when someone buys an ad like that that they can place a limit on the daily “sales” or clicks of that link.
This hard limit was reached quickly. It will be interesting to see if the link makes it back up later tonight/tomorrow.
To: BlueJ7
You can limit the total bill from any one add. Typically, when you post adds like that you can specify the maximum you are willing to pay. The add disappears automatically after the max billing is reached.

I hope he encourages listeners to do it again tomorrow and everyday after that until the ad ends.

I wonder if the Obama lovers at Google are giving Obama free ads?
I know this is fun and everything, and I hope it is costing the creeps big time, but I don't put anything past the "Do No Evil" liars at Google.

Did the search yesterday. Just tried again and no Obama ad for the “Goldman Sachs SEC”, but I did get a lot of sites in which Google has identified the site as “harmful to your computer”. I wonder if they are tagging negative sites?
