In a meeting with students at West Virginia University, a young pilot asked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, Mike Malen, to comment on rumors that if Israel decides to attack Iran, its fighters will need to cross Iraq's airspace to reach their targets. The U.S. military has described this airspace as closed to flights. If so, would American forces shoot down Israeli planes flying over Iraq?
Malen's reply: "We have a strong exceptional relationship with Israel. I spent much time with my colleagues in Israel. And so we have a very clear understanding of where we are. Beyond that, I just would not want to get into speculation about what might happen and who might do what. Frankly, I do not think it serves any purpose. I hope that the issue will be resolved in the way which will never have to answer a question like this. "

The US has seen what spying against Israel will result in: USS Liberty. Israel isn’t goofing around. Our PC government is about to get a schooling. Israel might not have the F-22 but they do have excellent pilots.
Never happen. Ubama wants a war with Israel?
Yeah, that’s a good idea...
What year was this?
In my little corner of the world (and, admittedly,it's not that large) a huge percentage of those who call themselves "Jews"...or are categorized as such by others...are,in fact, atheists. To them,"Jew" is an ethnic, rather than a religious, label.Kinda like "Canadian" vs "Anglican".
You might want to start picturing it...The US gov't torched an American religious community and killed most of the people including women and children...
I'm not aying they should have. What I said was to the effect israel claimed they were attacked (ie an act of war) when in fact they weren't. Israel attacked first.
Now, whether they belive they were justified in conducting a preemptive strike is in accordance with THEIR FOREIGN POLICY DECISIONS.
If they felt they were in danger, then by all means strike first. What I mentioned was they said something and it wasn't entirely true.
Fact. Israel attacked Egypt. Fact Israel attacked a US Naval vessel.
If you read my post, I speculated the Isrelis most likely felt justified in their actions.
I'm not here to bash Israel. I am trying to have an intelligent conversation. But, apparently, utilizing any type of critical thinking (even when my post was not biased at all) brands you anti-Semite.
Or are you going to claim you weren't trying to bait me with your remark?

There had to be valid reasons. Bamfords fall way short.
That is your opinion. However, the sources of the book were from NSA employees and USS Liberty crew..... ie people with first hand knowledge or eyewitnesses.
I stipulated Israel felt validated in their attack, by protecting their national interests. Bamford goes onto detail further concerning Israel-Britain? relations/interactions as well other situations regarding their relationship with the US. I also said we need (and are justified) in determing our interests before dis/allowing Israe access to US controlled airspace for the conduct of war.
Further, I said that every nation needs to put their interests first and foremost; including Israel...... or would you prefer I said Israel should have carte blanch ability to attack US interests with impunity just because they're Israel? Cool.
Then we can say that Italy can attack the US for any reason because they are Catholic and home to the Vatican. And Saudi Arabia can because they're a muslim country and home to mecca....... and we can't say anything about; not even unbiased analysis of the events.
In those cases and that line of foreign policy, we are going to need a lot more troops as cannon fodder.... hope you registered for the draft.
SEE POST 117 I MESSED UP THE MODEL OF AIRCRAFT.
Dam. I didn't know jets could fly that slow. Sounds like BS.
God before country. I remember back when those 2 lined up quite well...
Israel has attacked the US military in the past. The US could easily attack the Israeli armed forces if it is deemed in our best interests.
Zer0 could order it in the case of a pre-emptive attack on Iran. Zer0 is certainly not at all inhibited by past protocols/policy and not at all an Israeli partisan.
Really? When?
Further the Israelis had later claimed the USS Liberty didn't have the standard posted. It fell on the statement of the ship's captain.
“I’m not here to bash Israel. I am trying to have an intelligent conversation. But, apparently, utilizing any type of critical thinking (even when my post was not biased at all) brands you anti-Semite. “
I didn’t use that language or make that suggestion.
“Or are you going to claim you weren’t trying to bait me with your remark?”
Is that the same as branding you?

“There had to be valid reasons. Bamfords fall way short.

Yes, it is my opinion and I stand by it. The sources are all from one side and it’s their opinion.
“I also said we need (and are justified) in determing our interests before dis/allowing Israe access to US controlled airspace for the conduct of war.”
No argument.
“Further, I said that every nation needs to put their interests first and foremost; including Israel...... or would you prefer I said Israel should have carte blanch ability to attack US interests with impunity just because they’re Israel? Cool.”
Now who’s baiting? It’s the President who decides what US interests are. You may trust him. I don’t. But in either case it’s not up to us.
“In those cases and that line of foreign policy, we are going to need a lot more troops as cannon fodder.... hope you registered for the draft.”
I’m too old to serve.
Come on the Liberty had to have been doing something it was’nt supposed to. I cant see the Isrealis just attacking our ship for nothing.
We need a recall for the Presidential office, like they did in California.
Ditto!!!
