Another thing, while I’m on a rant. I’m for immigration reform that doesn’t include amnesty. This country has relied on bring in people to do work we needed done from its inception. Immigration is necessary. The reform needed is for the government (under its charge to enforce and protect our borders and national sovereignty) to work with local American-owned businesses and labor to supplement the workforce with upstanding citizens, fully vetted. Those temporary workers may decided they like it here and, if so, there is a procedure by which they may apply for citizenship, take the necessary courses (history and language) to become citizens and live and work here while maintaining their cultural, religious and ethnic identity. It’s the American Way and it has served us well, until all the “special” interest, anti-American, racist groups became involved.
Oh yes. They do that, and there's no shortage of DUI/uninsured/fleeing the scene type incidents either.
Just sounds bizarre having McCain state the truth about it.
UPDATE on this story...McCain is already backtracking...this old man has lost it.
John McCain’s Campaign Clears Up Controversial Illegal Immigrant Quote
[snip]Senator John McCain’s office is clearing up a controversial statement the Arizona Republican made implying, during a recent interview on Fox News, that illegal immigrants were “intentionally causing accidents” on highways.
In an email to the Huffington Post, Brooke Buchanan, a spokesperson for the Senator relayed that McCain “was referring to a story Pinal County Sheriff Babeu told” at a press conference on Monday.
In that story, Babeu said that there had been “numerous officers that have been killed by illegal immigrants in Arizona” and that “in just one patrol area, we’ve had 64 pursuits — failure to yield for an officer — in one month.”
The line didn’t fully mesh with McCain’s inference that illegal aliens were causing disasters on the roads “intentionally.”
