I don't think Obama won because people voted for him because he's black.

Bad news: He did, and they did.

Three Michigan political scientists (think they were on faculty at Michigan State) did a study, a big study, back in about 1993 or 1994 which was duly published in the main Stateside academic journal of political science.

Long story made short, a candidate who has a bloc-voting minority in his back pocket has a powerful advantage in an election that is otherwise decided on the issues.

IOW, if other voters are voting properly on the issues, the bloc voters give their man an unfair advantage, and they achieve for themselves undue influence over policy.

The poli-sci professors showed statistically, by examining masses of voting records of representatives and delegates from legislative districts (at various levels) with bloc-voting constituents in them, that bloc-voters do in fact achieve unfair advantages from their voting pattern.

Representatives from districts with 10% bloc voters showed "some" influence of the bloc voters, increasing until at 20-25% of the total vote, the bloc voters obtained preclusive, and exclusive, control over the legislator.

Thus a 20-25% bloc vote can counterfeit the citizenship of all other voters in the constituency. That is the politics the Democrats are playing at.

My black guy was Alan Keyes.

The worst, and most abominable, EPIC FAIL in political history was the complete nonperformance and nonfeasance of the Illinois Republican Party in 2004, when they virtually handed a Senate seat to Barack Obama and wouldn't even nominate an opponent. Keyes had to come halfway across the country to stand against The Magic Negro, just to say the GOP had a candidate.

I've never read a full story on that miserable episode, or even a brief explanation of why the Illinois GOP so miserably and spectacularly failed their electorate.

Some guys did some study somewhere 15 years ago that PROVES that people who voted for Obama did so because he's black.

So silly. That you can't even show the study, but just say "someone did this study" makes it even sillier.

Bingo! My reaction, precisely. The author is a complete idiot: “Hussein is a threat against my country, a documented radical leftist who opposes everything I hold dear and sacred, but I think he’ll be good for the country because of his melanin content.”

seeing the first African-American become the nation's chief executive gave me the feeling that we had finally crossed a threshold in race relations

Ah, yes....the Kodak Moment.THAT'S why people voted for this asshat. It certainly wasn't for any accomplishments.I know of none.

When Jimmy Carter beat Gerald Ford, I braced myself for the liberal climate about to descend on us.

Wasn't WIN fun!!?

Wasn't double digit inflation just EXCITING!

Wasn't LONG gas LINES interesting?

Wasn't Federal mandated temperature settings just what we SHOULD have been doing all along?

Mr Sadat praised President Carter as "the man who performed the miracle".

"Without exaggeration," he said, "what he did constitutes one of the greatest achievements of our time".

Mr Carter, however, was more cautious, saying the treaty was "a first step on a long and difficult road.

What’s black and white and read all over? A newspaper.

What’s black and white and red all over? The president.

It might be a big deal to have a REAL black president, the one we have is the son of a milk white woman and therefore by rights should be considered white if he doesn’t want to be called biracial. He is at least fifty percent Caucasian and possibly as little as one sixteenth black if Dr. Jack Wheeler is correct. At any rate he is not “black”.

It was absurd when Southern Democrats wanted to enforce a “one drop rule” that said that anyone who has one drop of slave blood is black. It is equally absurd when people who are clearly a minimum of fifty percent white and in some cases far more claim to be the “first black” something or other. I am a blue eyed descendant of English ancestors and I saw one man who looked as white as I do claiming to be the “first black” something in the military.

Barack Obama is not the first black president, he is the first Muslim president.

“I don’t think he won because he’s black.”
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I don’t think he won because he’s black but I DO think he won LARGELY because he looks the part enough to claim to be black which he did. On many occasions he went out of his way to remind us that he claims to be a black man. I say that had he been the same in all ways except that his father had been a blue eyed, blond white man from Africa he never would have gotten to first base in the primaries, let alone been elected president.

In short if Obama had been one hundred percent Caucasian he would be John Edwards with less experience and not as good looking and would have done no better than Edwards. Even Bill Clinton had to have Ross Perot muddying up the waters to win election with less than fifty percent of the vote. I don’t believe a blue eyed Obama would be any competition for Slick Willy in his prime.

“I’ve never read a full story on that miserable episode, or even a brief explanation of why the Illinois GOP so miserably and spectacularly failed their electorate.”

I have always thought the intent was to permanently destroy the independent and sometimes waspishly critical Keyes. He would be a constant irritant to those who value conformity and the appearance of subservience. Contrast party support for Keyes, who deserved support, and Steele, who does not.

Keyes was sent on a Uriah the Hittite set up to finally destroy his credibility and be done with him, IMO. It was largely successful. Keyes is not totally silenced, but he has become far less effective and now is more surly than provocative. That is not to say he is wrong on most issues.

Anticipating the skyrocket career of the vapid person currently operating under the moniker of “Barack Hussein Obama” would have been difficult. Faculties at numerous universities and boards of non-profits are bursting with such kept mediocrities - just another drone from the same collectivist hive.

Amen, all across America there are millions of men and women and even some children who are vastly more worthy of praise and yet we have had to endure the sight of so-called journalists going all weak-kneed and moon eyed over a pathetic excuse for a man. I could go into almost any roadside honkeytonk and come out within half an hour with someone who would have made a better president. We could have elected George Jones and been at least as well off.

The first response by the left to any criticisms of the drive towards an egalitarian society based on socialism has always been to call the critics racists. Remember that scoundrel Charles Rangel equating lower taxes with calling people the n word. Leveling racism charges has always been the libs first line of defense. And frequently their only one.

Rangel doesn’t even want “equality” or an “egalitarian society” -

he just wants those who have to not have.
