Heroes of the Apollo 13 Moon mission have called on the public to help to save America’s manned spaceflight programme as President Obama prepares to defend his plans to scrap it.

At an appearance marking the 40th anniversary of the lunar expedition that turned into one of history’s greatest rescue stories, the retired astronauts Jim Lovell and Fred Haise urged people to lobby Congress to block the President’s proposal and throw Constellation a lifeline.

The nations that lead on the frontiers, dictate the course of human history.

Ozero is systematically deconstructing our nation in every area. Stand in his way!

Sorry, but NASA is not what it used to be. From putting out phony data to support the global warming con to wasting our money on space shuttle trips to observe how newts reproduce in space, it is just another bloated federal bureaucracy.

How ‘bout we get some of these hero former astronauts to mention — as a group — something about zero’s lack of BC and other documentation of constitutional eligibility?

The more we encourage mainstream people like former astronauts to mention this topic, the more the MSM will have to listen (even if they editorialize about it), and the more we can actually help save NASA and space exploration.

I get the impression that most of the former astronauts are basically apolitical types (with the exception of someone like John Glenn, who actually became involved in it). Has anyone made the case to them about zero’s eligibility problem? They might not even be aware that there’s a storm brewing.

Vast numbers of O-hole’s supporters (mmmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmmm) do not believe we ever got to the moon. It was all a whitey trick. Don't be surprised if the Idiot in Chief doesn’t believe that, too.

Bull.

Most of NASA funding goes to human spaceflight.
Keep American presence in space.

Get off the all they do is global warming propaganda and lazy thinking.

This is a nation defining agency.

It is half a penny on the dollar of federal discretionary spending!

No doubt.

I think the private sector could do a much better job w/ space flight than the feds ever could, having the federal government focus on defensive issues only.

It didn’t take government bureaucrrats working in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to get us airborne. All it took was 2 individuals who were willing to sacrifice their own time & rescources to a dream. It’s called freedom!

It’s been noted before, NASA’s new charter is to search, detect, and track Anthropogenically caused Global Warming and Climate Change (AGW and ACC).

The only effective way to do this is to have a manned observation post on the Moon.

If the NASA brass had any, that should be their collective recommendation to the Commander in Chief.

You say “it is just another bloated federal bureaucracy.”

Yep - eats up a whole .05% of our economy.

And then there’s all those useless spinoffs:

http://www.sti.nasa.gov/tto/

but then, we get all kinds of innovations and advances from our other “federal bureaucracies” don’t we.

Of course, you DO know that the money isn’t going to be saved - that obyummer has directed NASA to divert the money to ‘predominantly Muslim countries” to help bring them in to the space industry - as they’ve been left out. Yeah. Teach them how to build rockets and make rocket fuel. That’s a better use of our money. Why evenually, it’ll all come back to us - just like all the scrap metal we sent to Japan before the war.

You probably won’t be interested in what’s really going on - (not even to mention the tens of thousands of people he’s putting out of work - great time for that.) - but for those who are interested, here are some links.

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_space_thewritestuff/2010/02/nasa-plans-more-outreach-to-muslim-countries.html

NASA plans more outreach to Muslim countries

(per a directive from obama)

headline:

“Obama calls ‘entrepreneurship summit’ with Muslims”

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.c429eac8e6bddb6d430d2b4d28386dd9.551&show_article=1

In addition, a letter from Hillary:

Hillary Clinton
Remarks at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum
Doha, Qatar
February 14, 2010

President Obama and I believe that education and innovation are the currency of this century. That’s why he announced a new era of engagement with Muslim communities to expand educational opportunities, support entrepreneurs, and promote advances in science and technology.

Our goal is to identify excellent ideas and successful projects in Muslim communities and then invest in them, help to scale them up, and to connect innovators and entrepreneurs, so that they can support and enhance each other’s work.

We are creating a Global Technology and Innovation Fund, which we will launch this spring, that will provide hundreds of millions of dollars in capital to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the Middle East, Asia, and Africa . . .

We have to continue to expand and strengthen outreach to students. And that is why we have increased funding for educational exchange programs for Muslim students. NASA, our space program, has partnered with the Arab Youth Venture Foundation in Dubai to give Arab and American engineering students the chance to work together on NASA missions.

****************************

These are illegal acts - NOT the preogative of the Executive Office under our Separation of Powers - indeed, NASA and the Space Program are legally under the auspices of CONGRESS. The WH has no legal right to by-pass Congress on NASA.

and so the redistribution of money out of OUR pockets kicks into high gear. (and the redistribution of jobs - tens of thousands of Americans will loose their jobs - as the money and jobs are given to Muslims around the world...not to mention the technology to create several more Irans. And then the Caliphate?)

Yes, the frontiers of knowledge, technology, and economic growth. W's space vision was a waste of time and money, and was little more than a regurgitation of what his dad proposed in 1989.

If we didn’t spend 80% of our money on wealth transfers, and we weren’t $10 freaking TRILLION in debt, we could afford 10 NASA’s.

NASA is a PC organization, corrupt to the bone. There is no saving it such as to make for a real space program.

We are now paying the Russians $60,000,000 per astronaut to fly them to the space station. Sounds to me like Russia already won this race...

When they landed on the moon, I fully expected by this time in my life that we would have men on Mars.

They killed the manned program essentially because they thought we should spend all that money helping the poor. We still have the poor, but we are forty years behind where we ought to have been had we kept going. You can’t get the forty years back. But you can start again, this time for real.
