I don't particularly like his joining of two charged "topics", it will confuse those who subscribe to one demonization and not the other, in some ways confusing his point that in the modern politically correct world, certain institutions, religions and states are more targeted for delegitimization than others. It has been my observation that the Traditional "Hate Groups" (like the KKK, Nazis, and Many of the Left Wing Organizations that are in power now) SPECIFICLY target Jewish People and Catholics for their Hatred.
Now they have added Evangelicals and Charismatics to the list of "Fair Game."

My Theory is that these folks have TRADITIONALLY been the ones who have been the only ones whose moral principles stand in the way of their taking over, and therefore, must be neutralized.

Zionism was an effort to bring the good fruits of European liberalism to the Middle East, which is why—IMHO—Israel should be part of an European Union. Far more fitted to that than Turkey which is sliding BACK into Islamism. A romantic admiration to the warrior spirit of Islam was, paradoxically, a product of British colonialism that —along with the anti-semitism of so much of the upper class—one reason why Britain resisted the modernization of the Middle East. Why they should think that the Arabs rather than the Jews were worthy of that trust is to ignore what the pope pointed out in his Regensberg address, which is the irrationalism of Islam in general and of the Arab mind in particular.
Of Course the pope was blasted for uttering this inconvenient truth as well.
