Actually, it took me a while to post, so I didn’t see that votes were bought. I was reluctant to make my post, because I knew it involved a pretty big assumption, the whole patriarchal thing, but that suspicion is not based on what I would like to believe as the media operates on what they want to believe. Not going to try and defend what I said, but the suspicion is made real by what anyone can observe in trends among southern political activists and their groups. They tend to vote for candidates that are more qualified to be pastors than Presidents. Speaking as someone who is going to attend a church tomorrow morning where women cannot be pastors, I am not trying to slam anyone on that grounds. I just think that it is ridiculous when the South his a long history of trying to get Presidents elected who have no other qualifications other than perhaps the notion that some divine finger will descend from the heavens to endow them with the knowledge and expertise they require. LOL!

No offense meant. I just didn't want you to read too much into these results. And I can agree with your observation about lots of southern candidates. However I really believe it's different this time. Too many people are really scared where the country is going. This morning on F&F they had results of a national poll that believed their children will have a harder time of it than the current generation. That is scary but I think many of us can agree with it. Romney and Newt represent the typical eastern establishment and to a large extent are from the past. No one is going rally around Ron Paul. Sarah has the most people excited right now, but that doesn't discount that others may come along in the next couple of years with her passion and ability to energize crowds and express the ideas of smaller, more limited government.
