I had wondered about the amount of fuel given the 4 landing attempts. I’m still going back and forth with my suspicions. I’m just one who needs to ask the questions, and process the answers. That being said — I greatly appreciated your responses because they help keep my “feet” on the ground while contemplating this situation. I greatly identify with the Polish people and the country, so I’m still in shock over this as well... I’m worried for them, obviously. Such a huge thing to deal with as a nation — so many lost at once...

Speaking to RT, defence analyst and former Polish military pilot Mikhal Fisher noted a previously unmentioned factor that possibly was one of the reasons for the crash.
“In the Soviet Union/Russia they use a unique instrumental landing system called PRMG. It works almost exactly the same way as the international Western system ILS. However, the two are not compatible. The Polish airplane was modified to use the ILS, as the [Soviet] airplane was mainly flying to various airports that use it,” Fisher told RT.
