I’m not a pilot, but I understand that there are signals that come from the airport that provide precise navigational information for the approach. Could these be faked, and cause a plane to think it’s safely on approach when it is actually being guided to a crash?

Its interesting how eye witnesses to the crash said they saw so much and yet there are claims of a heavy fog and several attempts at landing. It gets curiouser and curiouser.
