A WOMAN died when the Islamic head dress she was wearing was caught in the axle of a go-kart she was driving yesterday.
The 26-year-old Muslim had been enjoying a day out with family at the Port Stephen's Go-Kart track in New South Wales when her hijab became caught up at high speed.
Paramedics said the Sydney woman suffered severe neck injuries and went into cardiac arrest after the hijab's material tightened rapidly around her throat.
Shocked onlookers freed her from the kart and paramedics managed to revive her before she was airlifted to Newcastle's John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition. She died later.
Police seized the go-kart late yesterday afternoon as a WorkCover officer arrived on the scene to begin an investigation.
Port Stephens duty officer Inspector Brian Larkham said: "While she was riding somehow part of her head-dress has got caught in the mechanism of the go-kart and tightened around her throat."

It is not enough to just say that Muslim women must be covered head to toe without knowing why. If you ask them, It is because a woman is a walking, talking vagina. Her mouth breathes just to keep the vagina alive. Her feet take her vagina to her husband, ect. If you see her hair it is vaginal hair, if you can believe that. These people are out of their minds and cannot be mixed with normal society. Try convincing a cannibal that it is wrong to eat human flesh. It ain't gonna happen.

Aw memories. On a family outing with my kids to “Big Chief” Go Karts in the Wisconsin Dells ( the GREATEST set of Go Kart tracks I have ever seen). Waiting in line with a bunch of people already loaded into carts waiting to start, they wave in the people on the track and they start to come in. Then we notice this one woman, in Muslim headgear come SCREAMING in without tapping her brakes. WAM wam wam wam all up the line followed by “ ow my neck, ow, ow ow. THEN another one comes in WAM WAM WAM. Finally, I spot ANOTHER one coming around the last corner and turn to my son and say “Watch this...”
