Beam me up, Baby, beam me up!
That is what I am hoping. There was one in 2008 that was very active in MA. Almost every dime donated went to fund ads and it was great.
Kool,I want one :)
Hell with it. I'll go down with guns blazing and no bumper sticker.
Agreed,now everybody will start fighting.
Trust me I have already been getting emails to donate to the original group. In fact I received one email for the Brown race the day before the election so they could run an ad. I am shocked I am still on email because I was disgusted that they had the nerve to ask for money for an ad for a race that was the next day.
I noticed the same thing — not sure if it is a good or bad idea — it is good they will be above to cover more area but it is bad in a sense you lose the individuality that made up the Tea Party movement.
The jury is out on whether it is a good or bad idea.
Almost every group on that list has been in my inbox asking for donations. Now maybe I will only get one email instead of a group.
I donate to candidates not groups.
Those are the three I would have said. I have heard pitches from Americans for Prosperity — try asking them a question about the government and how it works and you get hmmm but they are quick to make sure you know you can donate.
One guy that spoke to my women’s group, I would donate a penny to any group he was part of. He found his niche living off donations without knowing anything.
I feel the same way about Americans for Tax Reform and Freedom Works — get emails all the time asking for money along with several others.
You are not kidding if you see Norquist run away — feel 100% the same way.
Wondered how long it was going to take to see this happen considering some of the people running some of the organizations.
Monitor PACs and have noticed most of the new organizations spend more on fundraising and their own expenses then they give a paltry sum to candidates. My donations go to candidates because at least it is easy to find out what they are doing with the money.
I just saw this...Dick Armey is still pushing himself as ‘head of the tea party’ movement.

[snip]FreedomWorks and our partners will be hosting an event on the lawn of the
Washington Monument on April 15. If you cant attend, there are hundreds of rallies across the country that you can attend to voice your opposition.

Never watched the original Star Trek? The red shirts always got killed.
I am not shocked at all! I agree with you this is about getting people to donate and make money. Some of these groups spend way too much on expenses and fundraising to raise money.
My mantra is going to be “Donate direct to candidates!”
Don’t like what I am hearing and seeing.
