Fox News reported this morning that the Qatari idiot diplomat smoked a cigarette in the lavatory (I guess he also committed the federal offense of tampering with the smoke detectors) and then when he was confronted about it, he sarcastically joked that he was trying to light his shoes on fire. If this report is accurate, then while the dumbass diplomat was not an attempted terrorist he is a full-fledged IDIOT who should be convicted of first degree capital stupidity with aggravating circumstances.
Which is exactly why we should let the Qataris handle him. Trust me, they've already booked his flight back to Qatar, where he can begin job-hunting, with this nifty new item on his resume. If one of our diplomats pulled a stunt like this while posted to a foreign country, s/he'd be protected by our maze of idiotic employment laws, and remain on full salary while months of "investigation" was followed by months of "appeals" and so on. In Qatar, they just fire people who need firing. They'll yank his diplomatic passport, and may well decline to give him any sort of passport at all for a while, based on this stupid stunt he pulled while in a foreign country.
