I first knew that paying income taxes was a racket several years ago when I saw what the Earned Income Tax Credit was. How could someone get a rebate when they paid no income taxes?
The name is meant as a non-stigmatizing excuse much the same reason why WELFARE is doled out using EBT cards (electronic benefit transactions) that don't 'stigmatize' the user. Give me an effing break.
EITC is the single biggest paycheck of the year for these losers. It is the source of a whole industry of capitalists whose primary purpose is to grab off some of that 'refund' with RALs (refund anticipation loans). This is where the new cars, the Flatscreens, major drug buys, sharp-clothes binges come from. You wouldn't believe what a boost this stolen cash transfer provides (at least for a week or two)...it's why they vote.
The Earned Income Credit is just another form of welfare/income redistribution.
