Wow...that was a good shake...it went on for quite a while. Everybody ok?
I’ve spent time in California and clearly felt them under 5.0. My daughter is planning a move to San Diego. We were supposed to visit this weekend. Sorta glad we didn’t go.
Didn’t feel a thing...course I was out pounding on the Freeway pavement which gives a lot of rock and roll in my vehicle....
Might of being rolling thru Yorba Linda or on the Carbon Canyon road between Brea and Chino Hills.....just out exploring....
It is a windy canyon road.,...got some decent S curves.,...felt good going around them.
I just hope our stupid LA Mayor Tony Villar don’t show up
Upgraded to 7.2
That’s...not wildly reassuring, except for the glaring contrast between CA building codes and those of the rest of the hemisphere. California does have ONE thing to be proud of.
OH BOY any of your ladies are okay from this quake
I was watching CNN till they stopped the reporting. Hee said they’ll be back at 10:00Eastern
I’m about 11 miles NE of downtown SD. I don’t know how far it is to Pt. Loma, but I know it’s farther west than that.
I felt it so bad that after about 20 secs I ran outside and stood in my parking lot until the shaking came to a complete stop. It started as a slight roll and then it did shake for a few secs and that’s when I went outside.
The rolling ones don’t bother me .. but the shakers really scare me because those are the ones that usually do the most damage.
You should see it from the inside...
We’re in Boston and were on the phone with my son in San Clemente when this hit. He said it was a good 30 seconds but not a big deal.
*ping*
That is what happens in earthquakes. But building codes in Mexico are ...
That left a heck of a track on the seismo....WOW!
Japan was extremely proud of its earthquake codes and preparation on January 16, 1995, and considered them the best in the world.
6,000 dead later in Kobe on January 17, not so much.
I agree. Rolling is OK.
But shaking or jolts are scary.
A lot depends on weather the shaking matches the resonant frequency of the water in the pool.
aww! LoL. I know the quake wasn’t really much, but I’m glad the dogs are okay nonetheless :). I think my family needs to double check whether we are prepared in the case of an emergency...I pray though that the “big one” that’s supposed to come up right underneath us (on the fault Downtown LA is on top of) doesn’t happen any time soon!
Yes it is interesting to speculate what GOD’s intentions for this quake are...hmm.
That being said, Happy Easter! :)
I’m coming to Solana Beach next week for a week. Still have never felt an earthquake.
I was in Santa Monica a week before the Northridge Earthquake (Bookcase fell on to the bed I in the house I stayed in.)
