Wow...that was a good shake...it went on for quite a while. Everybody ok?
HOPE YOU GUYS ARE OKAY!!
And, um, hard?
There's not much out where the epicenter is. I was out there a few months ago. There may be some damage in Mexicali/Calexico...
What I felt was much more than 30 secs - maybe more like 50 secs .. it was long enough that I ended up standing in my parking lot .. just in case my apt went down the hill. As I was standing there, I reached out and touched my car - it was still moving - so it lasted more than 30 secs.
I live right off 805 and 8, and it appears to be southeast of me .. but I’m on top of Mission Valley and we usually do feel the shakers more than those on the valley floor.
It was definitely a deep, wave-like motion, here in the SF Valley. Like being on a boat. Good thing I live in a crappy small 1-bath home on a well-build slab. One of the older small SF homes. On the slab, we tend to rock side to side, but don’t crack apart (as yet).
: )
I was hittin rubber foam golf balls in the front yard ( don’t tell mama) and just at swing impact, the ball jumped 4 inches in the air
>>I wonder with how bad building codes are south of the border, how much damage there will be there.<<
There will be deaths. It won’t be Haiti-esque, but neither will it be as few as Chile.
Many of the people live in shacks and probably won’t be hurt. And a lot of people are not working and I suspect the business hi-rises will be the worst, but with not so many injuries.
Anyone know an online Tijuana TV or radio feed? I am checking with relatives in Central Mexico but that is still in progress...
My daughter who is attending college in San Diego just called and said it was quite a shaker; everyone ran outside, kids screaming, and a woman fainted.
Bright blue Mothership? Have a pic of that?
LOL yes, Franklin area..I’m close to it as well. The area surrounding the Troubador looks like a swell vicinity. Alas, I cannot live there..must be that strong heterosexual vibe I give off which kinda pisses off the locals.
we felt it hey you ok ?
>>Obviously its Bushs fault..<<
I thought Rove mothballed the Disaster Machine. Maybe he has a nephew that found it or something?
If the quake was in Baja, I doubt Central Mexico will be affected, as someone replied, apparently the area of the epicenter is sparsely populated.
Thanks.
Here it just rolled, like a boat. I thought maybe God was pissed the Lakers lost LOL..the game had just ended about 10 minutes before it hit..crazy stuff..gotta get the earthquake stuff up to protect the TV and cabinets. First thing we did was get the doggies..I always thought that dogs give u advanced warning its coming..mine could have literally cared less..they just looked at me wondering why I was picking them up
The Mexicans down about 25 miles south of Mexicali definitely got their world rocked.

Of course — I meant for the live TV coverage.
Some people trapped in an elevator at Disneyland per ABC 7. Gee, I hope it’s not the one with “Noooo windows... and Noooo doors. Of course there’s always MY way out....”
This event is interesting. There have been a series of quakes on that stretch of the San Andreas over the last few days with the epicenters creeping further south over time. And thus far, there haven’t been any aftershocks. A quake of this size should have produced dozens by now.
Nice long mild roll here in the high desert.
